Stalker_2 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Share Posted June 1, 2005 An RSV millie Sucessfully outran a police heli in Australia. Probably do able on most of our motorways in the UK at quiet times. A fast civilian type helicopter will only do 150 tops GSXR 1K will do 186 and gets there a damn site faster than the chopper. Aparently the best way to evade the police heli is to ride in to civil air space ie go to neares air port and the helicopter wont beable to follow as they please. Sorry mate the Agusta 109E will do 198mph at sea level and can take the direct route when it's doing it. It's not only a very capable machine but has good aerobatic qualities to add to the grin factor. All police helicopters can and do transit or operate in all classes of airspace. The only thing that happens is you get a warning from the tower as you descend on the ILS and you might get a TCAS warning. Stalker_2 Posted June 2, 2005 Report Share Posted June 2, 2005 That’s very true Dave…but the helicopter can stand off and follow the bike at its leisure after it gets a lock with the FLIR pod and there’s nothing the biker can do about it. The report actually did say that the Home Secretary was most concerned at the public reaction to the case. There is hope yet then that our voices are sometimes listened to.
