Slightly Nervous

Hi Guys,

I've been on the forum for a little while now because my dad got his shotgun licence so i thought id join up to see what the sport of shooting had to offer. Neadless to say i was very impressed, and i've done a bit of clay pigeon shooting with my dad and now im hooked so i decided to send off for my SGC

My question is, was anybody else a little nervous about when the FEO comes out to your house for "the Interview" because my FEO is coming out to my house tomorrow and i am feeling slightly nervous.

It's not that i have anything to worry about it's just that id be devistated if she said that i couldn't get my SGC. :hmm:

He'll ask you safety questions such as what to do with missfired cartridges and how to conduct yourself. :D

If there is anything you are unsure about, ask now and someone will help you. :hmm:

Be yourself, If you don't know, be honest and tell him you will be shooting with your dad to start anyway

Hi,

As has been said before just be yourself and try to relax, some will try to put you under pressure to judge temprament etc. If they ask you a question that you don't know the answer to don't try and bs them, say i don't know and be honest as they are there to advise.

They are not expecting you to be an expert, safety is the most important thing, if you have been clay shooting with your dad then mention it as you have some experience, if you have had any instruction then tell them.

My FEO brought a few pages on safety and quizzed me on it.

Just relax, you will be fine :good:

Let us know how you get on.

Jon.

Good evening all, just like to say thanx very much for all the advice.

My FEO visited today and she was brilliant. Wasn't at all made to feel interogated and was very relaxed. Just to let you all know that i'm expecting to recieve my SGC in 2 - 3 weeks, so i'm buzzing. :good:

I feel so privilaged to get one and looking forward to getting into the sport. My dads said he'll give me the lanber that i've been shooting with him so thats a start. Theyre a good beginner shotgun. I'll keep that for a little while then start to look for a new one when the times right.

Once again lads, thanx alot :( and hope to chat more on the forum.

Hi fellas

Lucky shot, hmr, Yeah it was leslie hickman. She was really nice. Just had a casual chat which helped me to relax a lot. She said that i'd have my licence within 3 weeks, AWESOME!!!

Frenchieboy, my dad got his SGC a couple of months ago so i started clay pigeoning with him then. Absolutely love it. I'm not doin too bad at it either (well i think so anyway, haha) i hit my best score on wednesday when we went, i hit 34 out of 50 in sporting and shot 19 down the line.

I'm defo already addicted. I'm shooting my dads lanber at the minute when we go so hoping to get a bit better with that before buying a new shotgun, so i imagine thats were the expense comes in, hahaha!

I'll still be shooting regularly with the old man because its a kinda father son thingy we can do together but still looking forward to shooting with my friends who also have they're licence.

Thanks very much for the interest fellas, makes feel really welcome to the forum, even tho ive been on the forum for a while, lol. At least ill be able to get involved with more of the posts when i get to do more shooting.
