Mrs Sweepy
But i just cant get my head round photobucket. And i dont think my Toms are anything to laugh at so off topic cant be the right place either. So here i am. Right catch my breath and i shell begin. I think i must have one of the best jobs in the world(well Essex anyway) Basically its to go into peoples homes and make them smile. O i have to do other things too while am their. But my main job is to be their to support them and to make them feel positive about themselfs. And to be honest i think i am good at what i do.(though i do think some of them would like to do the runner when they see me coming up the drive) So anyway back on track. Now i have one very dear client who when i first met was very unsure of me (god knows why) And it took them a long time to open up to me. Without going into detail they had the rough though years. So i was looking for the way to get into their lives and be accepted. And this is what i came up with. This person so loved their garden. but was unable to see to it themselfs. Now the only success i have ever had at growing things . Has basically just been limted to hair and nails. So what the both of us have achive over the last few months . Is bloody amazing. And the best bit of it all is the smile that i get When i return to the house basket overflowing with veg.

Mrs Sweepy
I think we have got about three more weeks worth of carrots and beetroot(at the push) Trouble is when you are new to this you dont really know how much to plant. We have got some broccoli on its way. And the runners are still a mast of bloom. But by the end of next month. Are little veg patch will start looking sad. So is their anything we can plant now that it will give it the new lease of life come early Autumm. I think it will do us both good to see if we can keep this little hobbie going right though the seasons. The ground it self is good as the veg patch is set in the horses old paddock. Well i think it is anyway. Like i said am more green then the toms are. when it comes to Gardening. So if anyone can suggest something that even i can not balls up . Please feel free to do so. xxxxSuzy How easy is it to grow Rhubarb ?.

Chard
You've certainly done well with them tomatoes, they're miles ahead of ours. But I think that might be a North/South thing, because we don't do sunshine up here Rhubarb is easy once you get it going. It just keeps coming. If you're not careful it'll take over

tiercel
Well done suzy You might like to defoiliate some of the lower leaves of the tomato plants that will let more light in, also more of the plants strength will go into producing better fruit as it does not have to feed the leaves. Try it on a couple of the plants and watch the difference. 100% well done on the carrots not a sign of carrot fly on them, I cannot grow them for the carrot fly and I will not spray. All in all me thinks you have done this before TC
Mrs Sweepy
Thanks Tc I will go sort those leaves out. The only thing i have ever grown before has been lettice, beetroot and some tomatos that stayed green. Apparently this persons veg used to be the talk of the village. So am working on the theory their must be something good in that soil. Or i was Alan Titmarsh in the previous life. Thanks verminer For the advice Do you know i have never had leek before. I was also thinking of growing some winter flowers is that poss. And if so what. Deeks The land its self is big enough for a few Chickens and even a few pigs . I would love too sample the bit of the good life. And i think it would do my client good too. But am afraid that the only livestock that might be save with us two looking after it would be a budgie or goldfish. And even them that would be risking it. xxxxSuzy
