pmb
Hi all I wonder if anybody can give me info on this de-act single barrel shotgun? It is being offered to me, and to be honest, I have no idea of age / value (sure needs a clean!) or legality ! Any advice appreciated. al4x
if its properly deactivated then its legal
dodeer
Looks like an old Coey or possibly a W&S. Sadly it has no value. If it is deact then anyone is allowed to purchase one.
Baldrick
It looks like a very tired Harrington & Richardson, but the top lever doesn't tally with the records I have. If it was in proof and held on an SGC it would be worth no more than £50. In its current state it is worth nothing, unless someone has a particular interest. I wouldn't bother clogging up my cabinet with it.
pmb
Thanks for the quick response folks! I figured it was a fairly low quality and unloved gun... the seller thinks it dates from 1890! Good to know it's free to own though. I wonder if it's OK to clean up the de-act welds with a dremel... would definately need some elbow grease to be worth sticking on the wall! Thanks again, fantastic response. Phil note: if a passing mod wants to mark as 'sorted' or similar, thats fine with me
Gordon R
Looks like an old Harrington Richards "Topper" model.
Chris Bb
Assuming that it is properly deactivated and certificated as such, it's got to be worth something. Hell, I'd hang it on my wall if I had a bit of wall left to cover. Note to self, stop buying pictures!
