recently purchased some air pros and got to use them for the first time today on some rape stubble, Must admit they look the part and birds started arriving within one minute of me sitting down, but they veered off without coming into the pattern i couldnt make it out at first but as the wind got up they started to make a terrible racket which was spooking them, out of curiosity i wedged some twigs in to stop them rotating and bingo they started to land in the pattern, Has anybody else experienced this with them??

Flog them to some other poor shooter...

Nothing wrong with freezing a couple of REAL dead birds for the magent, then simply defrost and go shooting

I think there a waste of time and money - whats going to look better to incoming pigeon? 50 odd quids worth of plastic and string or two real woodies?

I've got Air-pro's too and admit they do make a noise, but not so it frightens the woodies-infact i usually have a radio blaring away in my hide.Personally,i find that its best to put the rotary about 15yds away from hide staggered to either left or right, but not close to the decoy pattern which is further away.I only use the rotary to drag them off their flight line to get them within range of gun.I admit that when the woodies get close to the air-pro's they jink away which is why i put it closer to me,but i do find them effective.

Went out this afternoon for about 3hrs, useing air pro decoys and shell decoys, set up on some flattend wheat just to see if they work, boy did they work, pigeons comeing in from every direction 4 landed in the decoy pattern, 67 shots 31 pigeons good afternoon for me. Quight pleased pleased with the air pro decoys thinking that they were going to be a bag of ****, will still use dead ones as well, just experiment, more with the air pro pigeons only time will tell.

Cheers Dave.

Do a search first before you commit yourself HERE !

Why Henry does it say that Hypa Flaps are the best or something.....................

They will make a noise when they rotate but they shouldnt be clattering around?.

Try spraying a bit of WD40 onto the shaft to see if that helps. The holes should be drilled enough to fit the shaft through, it there is a lot of rotation wobble then it may have been a poor drilling. If thats the case then bob them back to us at the shop recorded delivery and we will send you another set through.

I never said that I just showed him the search for air-pros so he could get a broad consensus of what members who have them thought.

It is a bit shoddy to tell people to give a new decoying device a squirt of WD40, wouldn`t it be better to get it right first time, it`s not as if they are brand new to the shooting scene are they ?

Hardly a broad concensus H....... given that the fact that over 6000 pairs have been sold to date, and you only seem to get the usual keyboard heros who like to come on here and have a go. But hey, given that this sites sponsors own an alternative product that all seems fair.

They must be that **** that now that we no longer have the exclusivity on them that every man and his dog seems to be getting on the band waggon and selling them as kits, or as parts.

Its it a bit shoddy to tell people to give it a squirt of WD40..........no its called a bit of advice, like anything that works by rotation, it can build up friction. Thus some lubrication is always a benefit.

As for them being brand new to the scene, no, they arent, they were taken from the Air Dove from the states, but then adapted, changed, flocked, and put into the market place by us at the "other shop". Still, I guess that everyone still uses pinewood magnets and bouncers eh....

We had a people who came into the fair and said how great they were, likewise we had one or two that said they didnt work. But hey, you know what, some people also want flocks of birds to magically appear from the skies and not miss a shot. Pigeon shooting is like fishing.......some days you can work your socks off and not get a bite.

these problems of the birds not entering the pattern might also have tot do with the way the decoys and the magnet are set out ! if the magnets to close to the pattern it scares of the pigeons anyway. there are very few complaints that these air pros dont work so look past the product and look at what your doind as a whole when shooting .
