Electronic Ear Defenders - Radians or Deben ?

I've got about £50 to spend on a new set of ear defenders.

I've seen the Radian Pro-Amp which Sportsman sell and wonder if anyone could tell me what they are like.

Also Deben now do some OK looking jobbies for £50 - again - has anyone got any experience of them ?

Can't stretch to Peltor Sportac, sadly !

Cheers

Best £50 you can spend...

On a pair of noise canceling earphones. As in the ones you listen to music with. I can keep my phone plugged in, listen to music during empty patches of pigeon shooting and still answer the phone without faffing about.

I bought some 'cheap' Peltors from the US. They got wet and died (corroded electrics) after about 12 months. Don't waste your money in my opinion. Either get some passive ones - in-ear or muffs or save up and get some MSA Sordins like these;

They are expensive but the sound quality is superb and very well built, with a waterproof battery compartment.

i've got these - nice waterproof battery compartment and they work a treat (nice and slim as well, so don't bang on the stock when you mount)

Sordin's are great: crank up the volume and hear the pheasants long before you see them.

I've recently got a pair of the new Deben leccy ones...£49. Very pleased with them, well made, rugged, excellent protection and sound quality. If you turn the sound right up, you could hear a mouse ****!

They arent as slimline as the expensive Deben ones, however there is a scoop in the bottom of the muffs to aid mounting, and I've not had any problems in this area.

I preferred the Deben design as there arent any wires trailing out of the muffs, which could be a weak area over time.
