Cosd
Went out to my friends permision yesterday with my friend to have our last shoot before we go on holiday Saturday week. Drove round the fields, 350 acres, but it all looked very quiete. The cut rape didn't have anything on it, but the Barley stubbles had bits of flutter, so we decided to set up in the spot we sat in last week which produced 27 birds with 25 picked up. Sat there for hours, I took one shot and missed a golden oportunity, whilst my friend took none. We took turns doing walkabout, my mate shot one that flew out of a tree and another which just landed in a field. I decided to go back to take a look at the rape stuble field again and saw what looked like in excess of 250 birds scattered about; As I walked along they just lifted and landed again. We moved all our gear and set up only to take one missed shot, lift the whole field never to return again. So, petrol, lunch and half a dozen shells, rough cost of £18 per bird...what a bargain
George1990
The way it goes eh. At least you've got permission on the rape. I looked around today only to see 50,000,000 pigeons on the rape stubbles. Saw a shooter on another field and asked who he got permission from and he said "ooooh won't get permission on 'ere. Already got too many..." blah blah blah. Life's a beach, eh
Dunkield
And that's still cheaper than 'chicken' shooting
Harnser
No wonder I will die a pauper in the workhouse after 50 years of pigeon shooting . Harnser .

My advice is to ignore it and go knock on the door, you may be surprised at the result.
