peter-peter
earlier this week I read a post about the above ground, saying they had unreliable traps et'c I have shot park lodge from day 1. now 2 years ago they did have problems keeping the traps going. i myself complained. the owner tom and manager jeff, went to a lot of expense and trouble, rewiring all the traps with water proof plugs. and fitting recharging devices on the batteries. this has been undertaken in the last 18 months. I shoot there most weeks sometime 2 or 3 times. the club has taken the unprecedented step of dropping prices to £19 per 100 clays during august and september. the traps are sound and the no birds minimal. I visit all yorkshire clubs. and can say that park lodge is as reliable as any other. give it a try and form your own oppinion dont listen to slagging off gossip. fielddweller
I shoot there most weeks and never have a problem.Yes when its raining and blowing you sometimes get the odd no bird but they always knock them off the bill. Great staff and facilities and with all the proposed plans its going to get even better. cheers Fielddweller
100milesaway
Yes i go along with what you say, although I have only visited it 1/2 dozen times for sporting , the targets have been good and no problems or breakdowns to speak of as far as I was concerned. Staff always been polite and helpful, but I did hear that last year they were reluctant to put anymore sporting shoots on, due to some competitors bullying the markers. So if that is true i'm sure the bullys will know who they are , and all I can say is thanks to them for robbing the majority of us of a much needed registered facility in the North region. stevew
Park Lodge is a one of the better grounds I visit, I organised a shoot mid June there for our roving syndicate. 7 of us shot over 700 clays, there were about 20 no birds which isn't bad and they gave us 2 rounds on the 32 bird flush for free. As previously stated they ask if you had any no birds and you don't pay for them, very friendly and helpful. They don't do registered any more but do regular sporting comps with cash prizes, I won one Sunday before last with a 49/50, well presented targets and no no-birds to spoil your concentration. Recommended.
tomo66
Been a member of Park Lodge about 8 months now, what a cracking place it is,Jeffs a top bloke allways got time to chat and make people welcome ,has a relative new clay shooter i think this place is a top clay ground, cracking deals, i like that they have a change round with the traps regularily ,cheap days Thursdays and the current £19 deal for aug/sept,8pm Thursdays .No birds has n't been an issue for our group on any visits we have made( just ask site lads whilst they are out reloading and they are happy to check any traps that arn't 100%) Top place if you haven't been before give it a go and make up your own mind. Fuddster
Yep, count me in as a PK supporter-I shoot there every other week normally do 175 clays and get maybe 5 odd no birds on odd stands. staff ALWAYS ask if theres any problems. ALWAYS knock off the no birds without query. and are ALWAYS polite. keep it up Tom, Jeff and Linda, if the whingers want a whinge then shoot elsewhere.simples! regards fudd
