proTOM1
Have had camra trouble so only just getting these up . first is wingnut and barneys bag over wheat stubble ,the weather was good with a good wind and the birds decoyed well final bag was 75 pigeons 13 doves and 3 blackies . 2nd pic is of barney and his dad shooting over the same field a week later . the 3 of us had a good day again tho this time there was no wind at all well 2mph in to the face .We did not get much till after 2pm then it was mad for 2 hours with birds every where and alot more around than the week before . Due to there being no wind many stayed to high other wise it would of been better but still a good day . final bag was 72 pigeons 2 doves and a jackdoor ! out again tomorrow same spots to try again as still a good few birds this spot is and has always been good for shooting Edited September 18, 2009 by proTOM1

wingnut
Greatt pictures Tom, just like to thank you again for another memorable day, my pigeon shooting has come on no end after being with you and the other guys you take shooting, if it wasn't for people like you i would never have been able to do what i am doing now. The hide was in a fantastic location, set well back in the hedgerow, i managed to weave branches into the hide netting to break up the outline and help secure it because of the strong side wind, and i was virtually invisible to the incoming birds, i even had one try to land on the netting itself. The majority of the birds came in from the left side, and proceeded to circle around the back of me so they could land into the wind in a nice hole that Tom had left in the pattern. Every few minutes i would hear Barneys gun, and i would sit poised in the hide because if he missed it they tended to come straight over my hide, and if i missed they went over to his decoys, between us we managed to keep the birds moving most of the day. I managed to get 3 sets of left and rights that day on pigeons and doves. Now i have gotten my cartridge & choke combination well and truly sorted and have now started to hit almost as many birds as i use cartridges

wingnut
Well done  So, what combination works for you wingnut ? I am currently using a Laurona 12g 28" barrel multi choke sporter, fitted with 3/4 choke in the top barrel, and 1/2 choke in the lower one, cartridges are "Special Pigeon" 32gm No6 shot fibre wad. I have tried different cartridges and choke combinations over the last few months and this set up seems to really nail them well.
