rupertx
I have been considering buying a semi for some time now for the odd trip out into the field. At the moment I take my Beretta 682 which does the job but is primarily a sporter. My dilemma is that I shoot left-handed Most of the semis ive seen are right-handed and while they say the stock can be adjusted to suit lefties im concerned about the flying shells. Now I had all but decided on the Beretta AL391 but ... Ive just been reading up about the Browning BPS semi which loads and ejects from the bottom, thus keeping the flying **** out of ones eyes. Anyone got one or have any experience of one ? Ta muchly for any info. Cheers Steve
JRDS
I am a lefty and have had 4 r/h semis, there is no problem with the empties you don't notice them. Think about resale value, Beretta's are the No 1 semi and hold their value better than any other and sell better.
ernyha
My son-in-law bought an AL391 and I converted it to left hand for him and I think it took less than 20 minutes to reverse the stock shims and the safety catch. He has never commented on the used cases flying in front of his face and uses it as his regular gun.
dunganick
one of my shooting friends is a left hooker due to being blinded in his right eye, he shot a semi for about 6 months and could never get on with it, he said that carts flying past ure face are no problem, its the load of powder resedue that gets dumped in your eyes that is the problem. as mentioned the 391 is very easy to convert to a L hander, but it will never be a true left hander i would certainly not shoot a semi left handed without eye protection, we dont have enough eyes to risk it
