tonker
Hi Guys, Have had my mates 97k for a while now, I've been using it for rats down the chickens. He lent it to me because he couldn't hit much with it. I must say that I found it a bit twitchy too,and wasn't very confident with it I couldn't understand how a Weihrauch with the reputation they have could be so temperamental, Today I decided to master it and decided to change the scope. He had a Tasco on it, and I had a Nikko Sterling Platinum kicking around, so put that on it.Bloody hell I thought it was a different gun, not much more than 1/2 inch grouping within half a dozen shots, and negligable difference betweem 10mtrs out to 35mtrs.(definately shooters limited ability) I have a 60' shed so the first groups were windless, but pleased it held up pretty well when i got outside 1''ish groups but it was reasonable windy. If the zero holds I will be happy with that, plenty good enough for rats, and probably the odd head shot Rabbit too! Any of you got one of these rifles, and what is there humane range on a Rabbit, I will say I also have a .22 rimmie a .17 hmr and a.222 so not short of firepower. I may have a chance to pick it up off him cheap (cos he can't use it) but he is a mate so I can't do that and I'll pay him a reasonable price (any fair price suggestions?) Sorry for waffling but I'm quite impressed with it now especialy as I now think it's quite a well made springer. Your thoughts, I'm no Airgunner. Hamster
Never owned one but shot a few, the early ones were a bit nose heavy but the K version is spot on. I was watching some Youtube videos on saturday where SFS tuned ones were shooting groups well inside a 5p at 50 meters !! I might have a go at the next tuned one that comes up for sale . fenboy
I have a SFS tuned one and it will do 5p sized groups at 30 yards all day long if I do my bit . Mine is a .177 and I am happy to head shoot rabbits out to 45 yards , the humane range is the range at which you can shoot a suitable group , pellets can make a world of difference , try AirArms diablo field , RWS superdomes or super field or H&N field and target trophy as they are normally all good through the HW barrels Price wise £250-£300 for one in good condition. chandler
I Have one in .22 and it's accuracy out to way past 70 yards, i don't doubt, MY ability, on the other hand I do and will only shoot out to 45 yards. The gun is outstanding!
Barni
Great springers. Mine has never let me down. As above £ 250-300 for a good one , upto 350 for a mint used. Edited August 12, 2014 by Barni
MonkeyStan
This is also the gun I use and I love it. If I aim correctly then it takes everything down I fire at. Had a Webley before (don't ask me what model though lol) and just wasn't accurate enough.
Hamster
I had a look on GunTrader to see what is available and found a .177 described as extremely powerful and accurate, not your garden target gun you understand but one which takes down big rabbits and big fox from long distance. I kid you not and it's only £275.
