Exudate Posted August 19, 2016 Report Share Posted August 19, 2016 The syndicate land I used to shoot on had a house on the permission where the owner kept several malamutes. They have a tendency to howl in a pack when the light level starts to dip. If you were roost shooting pigeon in the woods in February, their noise was incredibly haunting and unnerving, especially if you were alone on a cold, misty winters evening. Just your mind running away with you at the end of the day, but on several occasions I left that wood pretty swiftly before it got properly dark! demonwolf444 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 I once had my air rifle in the field looking at a rabbit through the scope and about to take a shot, when an enormous black cat with a long tail jumped into view and took down the rabbit, looking up in shock and horror i soon realized it was by own cat which had been hunting just a quarter of a mile from home. Its the only big cat experience i have had and it might have had something to do with viewing it at 10x magnification at about 20 yards.
