Marksman1997
I was on Google trying to find out if there was any real advantage of one-piece scope mounts over the standard 2-piece? But i got no real answer on Google so thought you guys may know? What's Your opinion? If it makes a difference it is for a TX200HC Spring Air Rifle. Thanks in Advance! fenboy
Yes one piece are much better for spring guns as there is a greater area to clamp onto the gun , helps prevent scope creep .

Thanks Fenboy. Will go for One-Piece Then! I'm a Novice so just wondering... What is Scope Creep?
robbiep
Scope creep is where the mounts move forward or backwards, just fractionally, when fired. Far more common with springers due to the recoil.

fenboy
I am not sure if the Tx200 has a hole for a arestor pin in the top of the cylinder ? , if it is get a mount that has a arestor pin , you then tap it down into the hole and it prevents any movement. Marksman1997
Thanks Fenboy! Also how tight should you tighten the Allen Keys on the Rail? And how tight on the Scope Tubes? Roughly??
fenboy
They can be clamped up quite tight on the rail , not that tight it starts to distort the base of the mount though. You need to be careful with the ones on the scope , tighten them a little at a time and do opposites , dont clamp one side down all the way . The screws on the scope rings should be done up firmly but not cranked right down tight.

I think for that particular rifle the one piece is best.
Underdog
I actually prefer three single clamps!

team tractor
I hate one piece but always used 2 piece 4 fixing screws. I have some aresstor pins you can clamp behind the mounts if needed for mine but always been ok. As said try and place the arrestor pin into the holes in the top of the chamber as it will help I find with a one piece it limits where you can position the scope
