pumpitup Posted February 10, 2008 Report Share Posted February 10, 2008 All depends on what you wanna do. .177 and .22 readily available, large choice of pellets. .20 and .25 not much choice. .177 is flatter trajectory for better shot placement, .22 has more 'shock factor' for hunting. If you can put the pellet in the right place and you're within range then the target is going down regardless of calibre. airssassin Posted February 11, 2008 Report Share Posted February 11, 2008 I'm a fan of .177 but I have had air rifles in .22 in the past. They are both the same power but use it in different ways. .177 fly flatter and are easier to place over different distances but I have to admit that .22 is more destructive. Having said that, if you know exactly where to aim and are a good shot .177 produces good clean kills. Choose one and stick to it!
