wacker
Has anyone tried these - they have them in my local gunshop. They are subsonic, and are more expensive than eley! What sort of grouping could i expect of these in my new Anshutz 1416? Was also thinking of trying the CCI CB Long - Whats the efective range of these low power carts & how do they group. Wanted eley subs but the shop has run out and won't be getting some for a while.
Salop Matt
Wacker, there are a few threads on here and other sites about them. They seem to give varied results and am desperately trying to get some myself but no one local has them. Different people are reporting some going supersonic and some saying they didnt split on impact ! But the general idea i belive was for them to split on impact and creat a bigger wound but would also have the benifit of possibly breaking up on impact rather than bouncing round but again some people are still getting them wizz off ! Beardo
the CB Longs are useless, they group appallingly.
garyb
Correction Nick mate CCI ammo in general is useless
Beardo
i make one exception - the 20gr hollowpoint .17hmr groups like a beauty
drut
Used about 70 up to now in Cz452,surprisingly more accurate than my last batch of Winnie subs. Hell of a whack when they hit a rabbit(more than any other sub I've tried) & they certainly knock them down. Takes a good push to chamber in CZ,about 1 in 10 go transonic with a rare crack: maybe just my batch & have had a couple of ricochets which I did find disappointing, although the noise from the ricochet seems different (& milder) than a normal sub. mr smith
have had a couple of ricochets which I did find disappointing, although the noise from the ricochet seems different (& milder) than a normal sub. I'm hopeing to try these out as well,as i have a couple of places where fewer ricohets would be welcome.I doubt these will as has been mentioned totally do away with ricohets, however if they do seperate as advertised the pieces flying around will not travel so far and with less energy due to the poor aerodynamics. wacker
Hi - well i bought 50 to see how they go and they seem a bit louder than the other makes i bought today, which were, RWS SUBS - which were grouping quite well at 50yds (nothing like the one hole test group the rifle came with!) CCI SUBS - not as good as the RWS CCI SEGMENTED HOLLOW POINT SUB - loudest out of the lot Remington subs - 1" AT 50 YDS RWS SUBS - 1/4" at 50yds
badshot
Haven't tried them but they are only a quid or so cheaper than hmr at my local so that's where they will stay.
bruno22rf
Why pig about?most rimmy users know that you simply cant beat Eley extras or RWS -its worth waiting for your local dealer to re-stock.
