    pcp or not

A pcp is not "better" than a springer It is different, and for those with a poor shooting technique it can enable them to become a better shot. They are more expensive to maintain and service, hardly any of which you can do at home unless you are competant enough. As for that rubbish about the pumps  A pump is useful for topping up a rifle after a hunting trip. For sure it is a bit of effort but as long as the pump is serviced it is a piece of **** to use! I serviced mine last week and it's like silk now. No effort at all. The only real benefit of a divers bottle is the quality of the air in it. It is drier than that from a pump. Although having a dripak fitted is nearly as good. PCP's are good make no mistake but for heavens sake you should really be a competant shot on a springer first, and if possible keep one in the cabinet to keep your technique upto scratch!

    pcp or not

If you want a PCP then get one. A clinical, relable and fantastic hunting tool. However a springer is just as good, cheaper to run, less hassle and just as accurate. Oh and a springer teaches you good technique, the first thing to slide when you buy a PCP! (I have an AAS410)
  3. On a 12lb airgun you are not going to get any other shock factor other than the look on it's furry little face when it realises you've just given it lead poisoning! Just stick with the accupels.
  4. Give them a shout, they might have a spare one.
  5. I use a fabric sleeve that was designed for shotguns but I adapted it. Wrap a bit of scrim round it and you are away. Dipping is all well and good but may affect resale value etc. Nice Ghillie by the way. I made mine and it cost more than £50!

    to many

Feeling hungry then? What would you have done with 40?
  7. No wonder they have problems, it is not written in crayon.

Sorry, not too sure what you mean. Constant pressure? Do you mean regulated? The origanls are not regulated, they drop off as the pressure alters. Cannot understand the last part, sorry!
  9. It is a personnal thing but as a rule of thumb on a .22 zero at 30yds. This can make it easier to get a kill shot should you misjudge a distance. (If you know what I mean!) A .177 is usually zeroed at 35yds as it has a flatter trajectory which compensates.
  10. Best pellet is one that groups well. Regardless of make. Accupells work well in S16's so maybe start there.
  11. It is a complete joke that these Police officers do not have a clue. Surely common sense must prevail, even a quick check on the internet will sort out a LOT of problems. What about BASC producing a pamphlet that you can show the clueless muppets? Would the BASC code of practice be any good as an an explanation to P.C. Clueless?
  12. I regret selling my HW57. First decent gun I had. Still the Father in Law's BSA Lightning that I have "stolen" sort of makes up for it!
  13. Oh and did BASC actually help out at all?
  14. I got to page five and lost the will to live. So did he get his guns back and were the plod in the wrong?
  15. Who would most likely be clueless. Unless he was a specialist in Firearms laws, or whatever the term is.
