  13. i'm looking for a springer pup, in northern ireland within the next few months, not worried about it coming from trail lines but must be from working strain, if any of you lads from this side of the water hear of any could you possibly let me know!! cheers
  14. A mate of mine only just received his permitt from the PSNI earlier this week, after 7 months, while another friend from a different area but still PSNI took 3 weeks to get a 20 bore added to his.
  15. i am a Commerical and Domestic appliance engineer and would never hesitate in recommending Miele Appliance to anyone, can be pricey but they are built to last, i have installed Miele domestic washing machines into Nursing homes where the thing is continiously ruunning and apart from the odd ripped door seal there has been no problems. Bosch are a good machine too but be careful what model you get as there are a couple of Spanish made machines badged Bosch which aren't quite up to the mark.
  16. Just a quick word of warning, if the dog is young and inexperienced perhaps he'd be better left at home, i know this from my own experience with my eldest springer a couple of years back, he was steady and abidable when out over the fields with me, but i took him beating on a shoot and the pheasants turned his head, as he proceeded to try and put every bird in the cover up before the drive had started, probably the most embarrassing monet of my shooting careeer to date, needless to say i haven't been back to that shoot since and to be honest the blame lay with me, the dog just wasn't ready for an organised driven shoot.
  17. it's also locally known as Osbourne & King Estates, It's not far from where i have a couple of flight ponds.
  18. I quit in May and managed to stay off them til September, i actually lost weight but that was down to not drinking alcohol and walking everywhere and stressing out about cigarettes, i was actually getting fitter every week but wouldn't let myself see it because for some reason i was sure i was going to drop with a heart attack, crazy isn't it, I decided to stop again at the start of October and so far so good, but i found the first three weeks the easiest last time too, so for me it's not stopping which is so hard it's staying stopped and getting rid of the brainwashing about actually enjoying smoking. So good luck with your quit, you know it makes sense!!!
  19. Zantac , i used to get heartburn any time i drunk wine or cider, used to pop a Zantac and it would disappear within 5 mins!
  20. An American Werewolf in London, perhaps not the scariest of films now but a masterpiece of film making that had everything when it was made in 1981.
  21. This topic is very close to my own heart, several years ago my mother who had worked as a stitcher from the age of 16, paid her stamp and taxes was unable to work due to poor health. The invalidilty allowance she was granted was 1 of the lowest payments received. Then a letter arrived one morning stating that a home assement was to be carried out to see how ill she was and what level of benefit she should receive, after doing the assement her benefits were stopped and only her state pension was then due, 3 weeks later she died of a massive heart attack aged 61. So when i see the wasters running about in free cars, free rent, free everything, and standing in the boozer or bookies it really does get me upset. I actually grassed a neighbour up 2 years ago for benefit fraud ( he was driving taxi's while on the DLA) it went against my grain to do so but he was rubbing everyone's nose in it and boasting about what he was making cash in hand. And you know what, it was a waste of time he's now also gardening 3 days a week and still claiming benefits and has just bought himself a new Honda Fireblade, just another example of "Crooked Britain" i suppose !!

    recession

i'm starting to notice a difference over here in NI also, i was talking to a couple of builder friends at the weekend and at the moment they're al right but no new contracts coming in. My personal opion is the scandalous price of fuel in Britain is partly to blame. Home heating oil is now 300 % more expensive than 5 year's ago, electricity has just increased here by 14% with another rise of 17% in a few months time, water rates coming and also general houskeeping bills are up to, but at least the government say we are on target with inflation !! Having said that above i do think a lot of people have brought problems to their own door step, with the boom in house prices a lot of people started borrowing way too much money thinking it was theirs to borrow and had a god given right to drive 2 new cars, and all the latest this and that, i'm not a miser but surely grown adults must have known that cheap borrowing couldn't last for ever, did they not realise that the banks do need paid back, i have every sympathy for young families trying to sart a home and family but i think many problems have been created unneccesaryily. I'm self employed and realised that when the going was good make the most of it but remeber in every business there is down time too which you have to be prepared for. I hope the above didn't sound like a sermon but just my opion. ps Britain is ridicously expensive to live in, if my wife would go i'd immigrate in a flash.
  23. Yep had a 205GTi in Mid nineties, lovely car to drive, Dream car for me is Aston DB9,
  24. i'm on the wagon at the moment, (due to expanding waistline) but has to be Guiness Draught but not the extra cold stuff, and used to enjoy Jameson's or Bushmills Black with water no fizzy stuff in it, but due to not remebering getting home when drinking either have not indulged in a year or so!!!
  25. My personal favourite film would be the "The Quiet Man," closely followed By "Fargo."
