Thinking of using steel through my Beretta 686.
Has anyone experienced any long term problems with steel
Thanks

On mine the outer sleeve is threaded onto a fixed block at the stock end and locked with a button head screw.
if the block attached to the barrels has come loose that sounds serous as on mine it is locked solid
i am local to you so if you want to compare guns let me know

Sorry can't help much on the loads but if the subsonic is for your hushpower don't forget they need to be fibre if used with ported barrel.

Considering a Stanley but cannot see any way to contact them directly in the UK. As they carry a lifetime warranty who do you deal with in case of a problem ?

Yes it is a scam , comes through quite regularly

Update , Environmental Health guy (not teenager) came and gave a good impression of an expert , no bloody idea what the problem is.
However he did say that gases could be ruled out as symptoms not conducive with CO or gas.
Advised that any suggestion of measuring the air quality was a waste of time as equipment needed far too complex.
Since his visit we have noticed an improvement in the nasal irritation since the vinegar smell from the wash down has now gone,
The eye irritation has also reduced since closing the window vents.
So we are living with the issue for now to see if things improve further as the pollen season passes.
Fingers crossed and thanks for all the suggestions.

Quick update.
Washed down with deodoriser mix today , seems a little less irritating . Waiting for the smell of vinegar to disperse.
Local council Environmental Health coming on Thursday morning so will see what pearls of wisdom he brings.
-
Thanks to all .
Going to try a white vinager / baking soda deodoriser spray today and see if that neutralises the problem.
Will be talking to Environmental Health as well for any suggestions.

Our tiled floors are cleaned every day , no sign of dog pee.
Not sure how too test appliances other than turning them off .
Washing machine in utility room and isolated.
-
We have tried to work around the effected area to find the worst part but it is open plan 40+ m2.
Tomorrow I will take out all furniture etc and see if it makes any difference.

Washing machine in utility room and isolated.
It definitely is an airborne irritant , feels like a very strong air freshener.
-
Thanks for the inputs , keep them coming .
I will give environmental health a call tomorrow , I guess they are attached to local council.
Will keep checking all areas suggested. House built in 1982 , we have been here 24 years.
Oven and hob are electric , other than that normal fridges and freezers.
-
There is no undue smell in the utility , we can shut the door to that area and it makes no difference.
-
Neighbours not effected , only gas boiler in utility. Have carbon monoxide detector.
Expert help seems hard to find for domestic.

HELP anybody into air quality.
We are having a problem with an irritant in our kitchen / family room area. It feels like a mild burning sensation to our eyes and nose and has been present for the last 2 weeks
We thought at first it was bleach smell but having cleaned all the walls , floors , curtains etc and even bathed the dogs the problem still exists. When you enter the room the irritation can be felt almost immediately. Running an air purifier has little effect. The flooring is tiled throughout.
Any suggestions appreciated.
