  1. A good evening out the other day... A nice stalk into a Roe buck, the wind changing direction half way into him made me push out from the cover of a ditch, which ran along a hedgerow, and out into an open field to keep myself upwind.... Lost sight of him momentarily in the long grass he was feeding in, but knew he was still in there....stalked to within 30yrds of him undetected and dispatched him with a clean neck shot. Having cleaned and inspected the deer, we had a look about the farm for any foxes.... Shot one just before dark by the main pheasant pen and another after dark, by some partridge pens, using the vulpine nv and pbir-x ir combo.... A nice productive evening and a happy farmer ?
  2. This is my rifle, any questions please ask away.
  3. Trying to catch up on the fox population on 2 game shoots before the poults come in. Everything has just shot up over the last few weeks making things quite difficult with the long grass and height of the crops now... Gotta keep at them!!!
  4. Le chameau condor.... Finally le chameau got it right!!! Theses boots are as light a trainers, fleece lined and 100% water tight with the ankle support of a decent walking boot. If you can stretch your budget, get a pair!!!
  5. Le chameau condor zip boots.... Very light and very comfy!!!
  6. Cooper sst pro are well worth a look.
  7. A few bucks I have had so far this year.
  8. My last 2 were in nice clean summer coats, the others not... This one was back in April, summer coat starting to come through.
  9. Butchered into steaks and mince. Mince will be used to make burgers and lasagna..
  10. A nice clean old chap. 7 pointer Took a while to get into a position for a safe shot, but got there in the end.
  11. I think she is I'll, she appears to show early signs of Alzheimer's.....
  12. I do find it more comfortable, less stress on the wrist and better control.
  13. Selling my Sako 85xs laminate stainless fluted barrel .225 1-8" twist in gunwatch If anyone is interested https://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/357757-sako-sako-85-xs-laminate-stainless-fluted-1-8-223/
  14. Jimmy's only return 30mpg, less on the motorway. Skoda yeti 4x4 are good on fuel and very capable off road.
  15. Eley subs are the most accurate for my rifle after comparing other brands. Not had 1 misfire at all, find them very consistent.
  16. Yes made them myself. I have the trigger sticks too, but much prefer the quads. Admittedly I use them as a bi-pod initially and if needed, pull back the rear rest for stability on longer shots...
  17. Had a buck in the first week too, but was still in velvet... that particular bit of ground is pest control primarily, otherwise I'd have left him until he was clean. Always loads of muntjac, saw another 4 on my way back to the car, they are like rats, they just keep coming !!
  18. He was a nice clean chap. Wood is laminate, feels very nice and comfortable to shoot.. Blaser r8 pro success are considered thee best stalking rifle.....?? Amongst others like the Sauer thumb hole ...
  19. Had a nice Roe Buck over the weekend. Bumped a nice muntjac buck too, but he wasn't stopping for no one, hopefully catch up with him another day:0/
  20. Having had a good play with the blazer... I like it... it's accurate, just like my Sako 85... As mentioned, the prices for mounts and bipod etc are somewhat, off putting :0/ I have recently purchased an Mauser M12... I like it allot !! Not had the time to really play with it yet, but so far I am impressed with it.... so much so, I'm considering another instead of an R8.......
