  1. I am selling my much loved s410 as i have found that since getting my FAC i no longer use the gun. It is in left hand and is the classic model. It has one of the best walnut stocks ever to come out of the airarms factory, and was picked by my mate who was there for work. And does not have a mark on it. It is beeing sold with: AGS V.I.P.E.R, 3-9x50, mil dot, green red I/R scope with sun shade and pop up covers. Air arms silencer 2x10 shot mags Around 1000 air arms field pellets Garland stock cover( to keep the stock safe) It has studs already fitted. Also i am throwing in my Deben Tracer max with red filter, which makes the perfect lamp for this gun and is great for a night on the rabbits. I am asking £450 for the lot, which i think is a fair price, and i would like it to go to someone on here that is going to get some fun out of it, rather than selling back to the gun shop were they will just be looking to make money on it. Thanx for looking and PM me if you would like to know any more Matt
  2. i use the blue tip ones and am paying £8.50 for 50.Which is prob the best price i have found. But £10 is still a good price Matt
  3. I asked my FAO the same thing when i got my sgc and my fac, his answer was as long as the gun is out of sight ie in the boot in a slip, and the car/4x4 is locked u have done everything in your power to make it safe. But i would not advise leaving any gun in a car/4x4, but i like the idea of talking the bolt of my riffle if i need to leave it. Matt
  4. I know this is a bit of a long shot, as i know how rare these are.but the 10 shot keeps sticking. Am will to pay good money for a good one. PM me if you can help. Thanx Matt
  5. Thanx for all the support and the funny comments. What has shocked me is that this sort of thing has happend to other people on here to.I think people who have moved to the country should try to learn how to live in the country and understand that this has gone on for years and is doing farmers a big service, maybe if the cost of all wheat, barley and rape products was to go up, they might not be so quick to come and have a go at us. I am not going to let it put me off shooting as it has become a real love of mine over the last few years, hell me and a few mates thought it would be a good fun to hold a small(maybe 30 guns)driven clay shot in the same field one sunday morning, show him just how loud guns can be lol. Once again thanx for the support and making me smile Matt
  6. Everyone says just shot him or near him, but trust me the one thing we all did was point the guns the other way,to stop him getting more angry and i one did go off it would have been the end of our shooting for a bit, i think it is about 10 years for that sort of thing.
  7. yea i like the camera idea, even if he dont come back can get some good shooting vids aswell
  8. I was out shooting on sunday night on the farm were we have been shooting for a while, i was out with my normal two mate and a new mate who had come along to drive. We always start at the top of the farm and work our way round, all was going well and i was really hapy with my two new guns after just getting my fac. We had started as it got dark and had coverd one half of the farm by about midnight, so we crossed over the road to start on the other side, there is mainly wheat on this side and none had been cut yet.So we only had two small fields to lamp in. Moving the lamp about we saw a good set of eyes in the field, but a little to far away to see what it was.So i got out the 4x4 to have a better look, i turned back a told them no its a baddger, at this point a man was standing behind the 4x4 with a small bat shouting abuse at us wanting to know what we were doing, so i told the man we were ok the be there as i know the farmer and have been comming up here for a while, but that was no good and he came straight up to me waving the bat at me saying he was going to "do us in" as we had been shooting at his house. I tried to calm him down and tell him we were not near his house and sorry if we had caused him any problems, at this point he was going mad and i really thought he was going to hit me. He then said i am going to report you to the police, so i gave him my name, and then he pulled my number plate off the front and marched of say he would get us if we ever came back. I was very shocked by this but i knew we had done nothing. So we all got back in the 4x4 and left. As i know the farmer i knew were he would be, yep u got it in the local put just two fields away. so i thought i have got to tell him befor the man calls the police. He was great about it and told me just why this man was going mad. he has a long running thing with the farmer and is belived to have smashed two gas bird bangers at the start of the year. All the other locals in the pub at the time also said just what he was like. So leaving the pub i felt a bit better that i still had land to shoot on and the farmer was still ok with me. But i was still worried about what might happen with the police, would he have called them, would they just come and take my guns, what was going to happen. Not much sleep was had that night. Monday was my first day of a week off work, so the door bell going at 7am could have ment only one thing "POLICE". I went down answerd the door and let him in,he told me there had been a complaint made the a bullet had landed in the mans garden. As soon as i told the officer what had happend with the man and his bat, he was great. We went through what had happend and he told me that it was not me in the wrong and he would tell the man if he was to do anything like that again he would be charged with a long list of things. The officer then asked me why i did not report it, and looking back i should have done i know, but i am never sure how the police will react when it comes to guns. But this office was great a real credit to essex police and we even got talking about what i do with all them bunnies, and what is the best way to cook them,a real top bloke. So as i type this nothing more has come of it and we will not be lamping that small field agian. There are a few things we thought about after, if he would hav hit one of us what could we do, we could not shot him. And as the office said if a bullet did land in his garden, how would he see it in total darkness and why not just call the police straight away noone in there right mind goes up to people with guns and acts like that. This could have all ended so badly with somone getting hurt, but i would like to think that with the calm actions of myself and friends it all ended ok. So what a story am tempted to phone up one of the shooting mags to tell them as i feel the police were great and should get a little praise. Sorry about the spelling as am still in a little shock Matt
  9. As i post this i am like a kid befor christmas,i had my FAC interview two weeks ago, all went well and my fao had no probs with the guns i want, were i am shooting and were they are going to be kept.We spent most or it talking about what i do with deer at work(being a chef) It has taken me a little while to get to this point, so i have been to my local gun shop and sorted out what guns i want. Being a lefty it makes it hard to chose a gun let alone fine one of the dam things. After many phone calls from my mate at the shop, he came up with a cz .17hmr with 16"barral just what i wanted. And i twisted his arm to sell me a rugger 10 22 that must have every mod going, carbon barrel is a nice touch So here i am stalking to postman waiting for my licence, so i can take myself and buy some new toys, just a harvest is in full swing. will keep u all up to date, and put on pics of guns when i get them..... Rabbit

I work for Jamie Olivers dad so i can say his E.F.R is great. I put the recipe on here a while back so a quick search for "jamie oliver" should find it. My mate also tryed cutting the rabbit up and leaving it over night in "regga regga" sauce(tesco's sell it) he said it was great on the b-b-q. Hope these simply ones help Matt(Chef)
  11. I make about 200 every sunday at work and i have a fail safe recipe and method: 4 whole eggs to every pint of milk, and add flour untill it is thick like single cream, add salt, pepper, and try mustard and horseraddish,(a small teaspoon) Put batter in hot trays and put in oven on 190c for around 30 mins Works everytime!!! Matt(chef)
  12. Always comes in handy for storing what i have shot!!!
  13. I can get sasauge skins through work(being a chef) in two sizes, and they are a good price, was thinking of getting some and selling on, as u guys seem to be finding it hard to get hold of them. Pm me if there is any one who wants to know more. Thanx Matt
  14. Yea i like the idea of the ruger 10/22, u can mod that so suit u. Have had a look at the cz i liked it, but my mate did not rate it, u ever had any probs with it Thanx Matt
  15. Have just sent away my fac form after getting over 400 acres on a local farm. I go shooting a lot with the air gun and my shotty, so the time has come to get my fac. I go out with mates that all have fac,and all have differnt guns from .17 to .308. I have had a go on a few or theres, sako quad, tikka t3, savage .17 etc I have put in for a space for a .17 and .22. Now the big question Which gun do i go for, i would like a .17 first and then a.22. All help would be great, what gun would u say is best for up to £600 each. Know i can get some good helpfrom u guys Thanx Matt
  16. found this one today "Beer can Chicken" Get a can of beer discard half(i think it means drink half), stand it up, place the chicken over the top(sitting on the can) and roast untill ready. Have not tried this one yet am waiting for some better weather to try out on the gas bbq, sounds like a good summer meal, if not a bit of a waste of beer
  17. i was asking the same thing about a year ago. I put in for my SGC and now i really wonder why i did not do it sooner, since having my shotguns i have been on a few phesant shots and some clay days, and i only wanted the shotgun for pigeon shooting. I would say keep the airgun, i would be lost without mine(and a lot of land owners dont like shotguns at night), but get a cheap shotgun to start and go hit a few clays, even that is great fun. And by the end of the summer u should be getting good bags Hope this is of some help. P.s it does not end there though i have just put in for my FAC lol

    Left-hand Sako

Hi mate i am looking to buy a sako and am also left handed, when i was in my local gun shop i was told that sako dont make left handed guns, so i think i will go roe a cheaper cz. But having said that i have used a right handed sako quad, and found it to be fine and even quicker if useing a bipod as u can just use your right hand for reloading, makes for quick shooting. Please let me know if i have been told wrong. Thanx Matt
  19. also this is why i have ust put in for my FAC
  20. Here are some rabbits i got on a windy night last week. Am lucky to have open fields at the end of my garden.
  21. I use a Vac packer at work all the time and they are by far the best tool we have for keeping meat and fish fresh for longer, the one i use cost just over 2,000 and boy can it suck, lol. If you were looking to buy one for home there would be two things to remember, 1 Vac packing food does not mean it will last forever, but it will keep the food freasher for a lot longer(none of that fridge taste) 2 The big down side with Vac packing meat is it will tend to sweet and stew in its own blood(venison being the worst) turning the meat green if left to long, and giving an eggy smell. But use right they are great for frezzing and stop food getting "burnt" by the frost, and aslo is a much more cleaner way to store your meat. I guess at the end of the day you get what your pay for. Dont be put of by prices of bags, shop around. A great web site is nisbets.co.uk they sell a number of them Thanx Matt

    Pork

A CHEFS POINT OF VEIW....... At work we try to cook our pork blushing, which is a chefy term for a little more than pink, the best way to explain it is to compare it to steaks,by this i mean we cook our pork medium(with a bit of pink but NO blood). As for getting worms from pork i think that is a thing of the past thanks to better farming. But dont get a bit of pork from the supermarket for 99p cook it pink and wonder why you feel ill. At work we use local pork(8 miles down the road), have been to have look round the farm and butcher the whole pig at work. I guess what i am trying to say is yea pink pork is great, tasty, full of flaver and as good as any other meat. But make sure you start with a good bit of pork from a good butcher who will know were it came from and prob even the pigs name lol. Or ever better come to my work The Cricketers in Clavering(Jamie Olivers mum and dads pub) and try blushing pork. And on the new menu smoked essex wood pigeon, or local venison.(just a small plug lol) Hope this has been of some help Matt
