  1. BERETTA AL 391 Semi-automatic with 3" chamber 30” barrel Woodstock, full set of chokes less than 50 shots fired Excellent Condition Will ship to RFD as gun is up in Inverness £600
  2. Ozzy, I use an AYA SxS pistol grip just like the one in the photo and yes it kicks a bit so get a good pad on the stock and for clay shooting top tip is to go for 24grm loads, much more comfortable to shoot with. Cheers Flipper
  3. Okay, one to get you Escort owners going! Who can claim the most rounds through their Escort, I know some have managed 4000 carts in a year but some of the longer term owners must have gone beyond that?

    SXS

I shot an O\U for a few years then moved to a SxS as they just felt better to me, O\U now seem very dead in my hands. I shoot as well if not better with the SxS. This may be rubbish but I think you are more of a natural shot then a SxS is the way to go. Great for walked up shooting as well as more comfortable to carry all day. Down sides, more noticeable recoil and muzzle flip, I switched to 24grm steel loads for clays and that made it much better. Pick up a few in the gunshop and see how they feel, they are usually cheap enough as most folk shy away from them so you get a lot of gun for your cash. I think every one should at least try a SxS for a round of clays, lifes to short not to know what it's like!!!!! Cheers Flipper
  5. There isn't half some rubbish on this thread! Steel 70mm carts can be used in ordinary guns, no need for steel proof marks. Read the text on the cartridge box and it will tell you all. I use Gamebore Steel 32grm No4 (US size No3) through a full choke AYA side by side and yes it patterns very tight but 42 forshore duck this season didn't fly on! Mixture of Teal, Widgeon and Mallard at ranges upto 35/40yds. CIP guidlines recommend Steel shot of greater ( i think) than No 3 should not be put through a full choke barrel as there is a theoretical risk of bridging at the choke which could cause choke\barrel damage. 3" Steel carts do need to be fired through a Steel proofed gun although there are some who choose to shoot these through 1200Kg ordinary proofed guns at their own risk. CIP regs allow 3" carts to be maunfactured at a higher velocity and pressure than the 70mm stuff. Steel cartridge shot cups enclose the shot protecting it from the barrel walls so there is minimal risk of contact and scoring. I have alos used Eley First steel 24grm clay carts and they were very good, very low on recoil as well. Many folk dismiss steel without actually working out what shot size\payload etc to use and then patterning it. Take a trawl through any Yank or UK wildfowling forum and you will see steel works very effectively and with some of the carts eg Gameboore 3" 36grm loads as well as steel. Cheers Flipper
  6. Mossy835, Not being too nosey I hope, but if the Escort was that good why did you sell it? Cheers Flipper
  7. Does anyone know which auto (given an identical model ) would be heavier, a model with a wood stock or a synthetic stock ? Cheers Flipper
  8. I am looking for feedback on relaibility and performance of the Hatsan\Escort semi auto from members who have had them for over a year. Who has had theirs the longest? Who has put the most carts through theirs? What issues have arisen if any over time? Cheers Flipper
  9. You wont go far wrong with an AYA, quality guns at good prices
  10. I think if you hold down the correct button you can pump one un used cart out and it doesn't cycle the next in in, allows a quick change to a hevy load cart for a single shot if needed?
  11. Lee, I must have goofed up the email. I have now tried to send a message via the board. Cheers Mark
