  3. Ok After a quick look on gun trader both the Tikka T3 And The X Bolt synthetic/stainless are around £700ish New. Im sure they was 5-600 £ december last year when I was looking at them in gun shop??? could be wrong. Maybe the tax increse??? Im sure I will be able to get a good deal on a Rifle/Scope/Mod Package??? Kipper
  4. Well chaps first of all thank you for all the replies. WOW, lots of tikka T3 fans I can not believe not 1 vote for the Browning X Bolt???ant reason why??? As For budget, Well I was hoping that about the £1000 mark would cover everything = with gun £500 ish scope+mounts 3-400 ish and then a mod. Seems I was wrong.(Hope the wife dont read this ) I would rather buy new as I have no experience with buying centre fire rifles and would hate to spend my hard earned cash on a worn out rifle. And I would rather buy something that is capable of deer stalking work as I would like to do some if all goes to plan.(Iwould rather buy once instead of upgrading later)but as i said at the moment it will be mainly fox. Any other suggestions/advice graitfully received Kipper
  5. Hi Chaps, Im after some of your advice reccomendations on my 1000 th post . I have delivered my variation to the firearms department today asking for a .243 + Mod. It will be used for fox mainly but some land I shoot on has roe/munty roaming on it and the farmer said we can take the odd 1 or 2 for the table (this is why I decided to go for a .243 instead of .222 or .223 advice received from some of you chaps in an earlier topic) If I get the bug for more deer stalking I will take the DSC course. I quite like the Idea if a synthetic stock with a none reflective stainless barrel with a nice scope sat on top + Mod. (I do like wood but I think the above would suit the hunting climate better) My thaughts are. Tikka T3 or browning X bolt there are some package deals on a web sight I was looking on last night (sportsmangun centre) with the above rifles in .243 win plus a zeiss duralyt 3-12x50 scope + mounts and wildcat or reflex Mod for arround the £1'600 mark, What do you think? Any advice / thaughts would be graitfully received. Thanks in advance Kipper
  6. I think that fox has been telling lies or it a Fox X Ant eater Sorry Ill get me coat. Kipper
  7. well chaps after reading all your tips and advice which was very much appreciated and santer bringing me some xmas money I decided to up my budget. I have purchased a pair of Hawke frontier 8X43 Ed range they cost me £260 but after compareing them to the current bushnell binos I was using before I am very impressed They are far better and seem very well made. only thing i dont like about them is the "STAY ON" lense caps, the small side 8x is ok no probs but the large side are ****. they fall off. I will have to come up with a solution to this BEFORE I lose them, mabe a tie wrap/cable tie will solve the problem. Anyone else use these binos? Any Good? Thanks again Kipper
  8. In my honest experiance pigeon shooting is a lot like fishing. one day it will work and the next day it will not. having a pigeon magnet/rotary is another tool in your box. but if that tool is not there you do not have the option to use it. but it works two ways if the pigeons are not liking my pigeon magnet then some times I will take the two arms off my magnet and use them as floaters. if that don't work i take them in as well. if you can afford one buy 1. you will love it some days and wish you had saved the money others. each day is differant but if you dont have one you can not try it. Make your own mind up Good luck buddy Kipper

  13. Two things I never intend to pay for in my life are sex and shooting But I suppose in reality they both cost us a fortune!!!!!!! Joking aside I will never pay a farmer/land owner for shooting pigeons/crows/rabbits/fox as at the end of the day I am doing a job for him/her that at one time of day he/she would have had to pay for. I would pay for a deer stalking experiance or a day with a pigeon guide. Kipper
