  1. Oh yeah...about the twitching. In many smaller animals the brain is not only an initiator of function but also an inhibitor of random function(s). I'm sure you've heard of the expression "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off"? This is the reason why. It was definitely a killing shot. Kinda like Scotsman and his keyboard No...I've never had broken plate glass fall on me. But, a steel beam hit me in the head once whilst at work...explains a few things Calm down and have a drink or have a drink and then calm down Digga....I use a computer at my local public library...those bouncing boobs on your post always gets a few good looks
  2. Ollie...that's what light switches are for
  3. Although you should always be sure of what's down range he had been practicing at distances further than that the day before. Being it was his first magpie (wish those were here to shoot!) cut him some slack. Name calling is unnecessary. In answer to the questions...if he had hit a window? It would have probably broke.
  4. The American Press is even worse in that regard. ALL reporting involving guns and hunting is biased towards the wacko tree huggers and bunny puckers. Makes me ill. Just as the press is controlled by those in power with only a democratic view point...not republican...aargh!
  5. I owned an '88 Mitsubishi mighty max pickup truck for 13 years. It died after I replaced the tranny with a used one and I sold it off of the road for $100. It had 354,000 miles on it when it died. The fella who bought it replaced the tranny and it is still running today. Of course it puts out a smoke sscreen that would make the Batman proud. Amazing lil truck. I don't know if I'd buy one of the newer ones but I heard that Mits is coming out with a pickup truck again next year. I currently drive a Toyota Tacoma pickup. I like the jap trucks, they seem to run forever. My dream truck is the Ford F250 4X4 4 door...one day
  6. Devilishdave...that was a great explanaition of dieseling. When I first started out with ariguns my brother and I would purposely spray an oil in the combusiton chamber. Never said I was a smart teenager now did I? We thought the smoke and extra power were great. I remember hearing the pellets splatter into tiny fragments when they hit the pellet trap. We did manage to ruin one pellet rifle that way and that pretty much stopped us from doing it. Have nay of you ever tried a product called EEZOX? It is a great protector of metal. If you were to take a brand new firearm off of the shelf in your favorite gunshop and wipe it down with EEZOX...you would see an amazing amount of rust removed from that brand new gun. After cleaning my 22's (firearm's) barrel I pass one patch with a small amount of eezox through it. I don't believe it would cause dieseling as there are no petroleum products in it. Here's the link http://www.eezox.com/index.htm . It is a very hard to find product around here so I mostly mail order it, as I do with my ammo and almost everything else firearms related...

    .20

When Beeman first came out with their "R" series my father purchased an R1 and I purchased the R5. The "5" meant it was 5 millimeter or .20 caliber. Since then it has been re-designated as an R1 but still available in .20 caliber. Anyway, I loved it. It was very accurate and quite noisy, a very audible "crack". The reason my brother and I owned air rifles was because we lived in the city limits and no one seemed to hear us fire our airguns. For more info on that rifle; http://www.beeman.com/r1.htm . I/it liked the silver jets and silver bear pellets. At the time the hype about the .20 caliber was that it was supposed to be a great combination of higher speed than a .22 pellet and heavier weight than the .177. The best of both worlds as it were.

    Horrified

There are sick people in this world, of that there is no doubt. Although I enjoy hunting, as do all who post here, I cannot stand for cruelty to animals. That is the difference between a hunter and a killer. The children who did this, I believe it was probably teenagers, are the ones who will eventually commit murder. They will grow up to be the future serial killers of the world. The infamous Jeffrey Dahmer killed and abused animals when he was a child. Banning fires won't stop this unfortunately. They will just find another way to torture someones pet. They always do. I can honestly say that if this were my dog and I knew, or found out, who committed this act...that I would exact an equal revenge on them. My dog is only a Lab/Border Collie mix but I adore her and she me.... ...methinx I will stop now as I am getting very angry....
  11. Wouldja look at that? It werked...thanks Cranfield...
