We have hens and a spaniel......... Dont turn your back on them for a second, although ours have been out together I wouldnt trust our spanner full stop. Couple of times I've caught her on top of a chicken, although it seemed like a playfull act, if I'd left them alone I reckon I'd be a couple of chickens short

I have a 10 month old Sprocker and she's great. Lovely family dog, retreives well, sits and stays etc, hoping to join a gun dog training class soon so I can get her in the field with me. The only downside so far is her hatred for foxes, she goes absolutley ballistic when she spots them so I'm not sure how to deal with this as obviousley once in the field she'll fly off if she spots old charlie

My spanner is also doing the same at the moment, she's only 10 months and finished her season about a month ago.... Same as yours really, went off her food, kept hiding soft toys, carrying them around wherever she went and also started to produce milk... Mine has started to get back to normal now, she's been like that for the past 3 weeks, if yours is snuggling up to toys ( mothering etc ) then take the toys away and give her some mental stimulation to take her mind off it. She'll be fine, we're going to get ours speyed as soon as she's better in herself so it doesnt happen in the future.. ATB Stamford
