Had interview; went well; guy was sound and laughed at my colourfull youth when going through the convictions part! (Never done anything too bad, just scrapping and the like in my teens) Simply asked if i was or ever been on medication? What was i planning on shooting? How many guns did I plan to get? Then said he`d phone my counter signatory and then Id get sgc in the post. All over in about 10 minutes so well chuffed. Hope he phones the guy today!

dont think you need insurance but got mine the other week. I went for BASC thinking it would cover all game sports; but now not sure if id have cover if i hooked someones eye with a fly when fishing? Anyways happy to have joined them and you get a braw car sticker, sew on patch and tie pin!

Got a call from the police today; interview arranged for 10.30am tommorrow; lucky im working close to home and boss cool with it. Have exhausetd google and pigeon watch looking for interview advice!! Have cabinet installed in loft; permission for on my door step; insurance; and agreed a price for a o/u subject to met getting certificate. Any last minute advice appreciated

Im sure I came across a thread on a discussion board regarding this; there was a guy who asked the same and a couple of months later had added that he got his sgc. Try googling ` shotgun application questions` or something along those lines. Id googled something along those lines and read the thread. Good luck mate.

I guess youd call them Hoggers as in doggers! Do they come into your garden in their little hedgehog cars and flash the lights on and off looking for some action!!

Place a target on a board at 10metres; get a picnic bench or something similar and make a mark where your gun will be positioned so that your roughly firing from the same place and position each time (ie make sure your lining up as near same each time) Have a mate who uses a black and decker portable work station!! Aim for centre; make adjustments accordingly with scope until your hitting centre(ish) put new target up and move to about 20 metres and repeat. After you consistantly hit where ure aiming try shooting from standing up/crouching etc. Probably a better way but thats how ive done it since i was young as no ones ever told me better!

where do you buy `ok game`@ Ive just applied for license so will be looking for a cheap and cheerfull for craws / vermin etc when I hopefully get all clear from the polis. Cheers Gordon

Ive got a philips 42" plasma; had it 3 1/2 years and had no problems whatsoever (hope ive no just cursed it!) Also got an LCD Both r good; if i was replacing id probably go with the best deal and wouldnt be bothered about plasma or lcd

Sare one! Earlier this year I woke at 5am paralysed from the neck down, absoultely sh1tting it. Wife called NHS 24 and spoke with a quack who assured her/us that it was simply a neck spasm and if I was no better in an hour to call them back. I thought id had a stroke or something (im only early 30`s) and took no comfort in the doctors advice...........however about 20 mins later with my wifes help I sat up in bed (being 15 stone she was knackered) and 10 minutes later I was as right as rain, got up and drove to Glasgow for a meeting. Hopefuly you`l wake in the morning and be sorted! Awe the best Gordon

Know what your saying; theres a pub opposite my office and its the same old faces going in there day after day boozing , smoking and clutching iceland bags!! Im not being a snob (love aldi & lidl!) but it annoys me as i have a degree, work hard, pay my taxes and I have to settle for a box of tennents a week to scoop at home so that i can afford to pay council tax, mortgage, oil, bills, cars and feed and cloth the offspring ! When Im an old man it`l be my savings (if I ever save any) paying for my keep at the old folks home when the room next door will be occupied by an old numpty whos lived off hand outs all their days and is getting it paid by the state. Hate this country!

New to this so read the posts in `Cartridges that dont go bang` thread. Wasnt something Id considered before but got me thinking:- Whats the correct procedure when you squeeze and hee haw happens? 1:- Keep gun pointing away from you and others 2:- How long do you leave it before breaking the gun to remove dud / swap chamber Also what cartridges would you recommend for general rough shooting and clays? Evening Shooters Im new here so be prepared for stupid questions! I apologise in advance. Have just applied for my shotgun license, have permission for shooting on 300 acres of farmground on my door step so thought Id take the 1st step and get license. Grew up beating on local shoots so although Ill hopefully be new to actually shooting Ive been of dozens of shoots in my youth and had a few shots of a sg over the years. With work and family commitments ive not had any involvement with shooting for 15 yrs so things have moved on a bit!! My plan is to get license, get cabinet and get affordable o/u. Theres a clay pigeon club just opened near me so although i`ll not join just now I can go along and get practise/tuition etc. As I said ive got permission for vermin control, pigeon, rabbit, craws etc All going well with application then Ill be looking for a gun in the spring. My budget will only be £250 so it`ll be a 2nd hand number. Id be grateful for some advice/recommendations etc for a gun: I see that n/e are a bit cheaper and given Ill just be doing clays and vermin do u think that would do me? What makes would u recommend that would be within my budget? Fixed chokes; would they be ok for my needs? Im sure i`ll be beack with more stupid questions but thankyou in advance for reading.
