To Clean or not to Clean a Rifle Barrel
Oops Missed Again replied to Oops Missed Again's topic in Guns & Equipment
Thanks chaps, totally agree with you both. RF = What is the effect of lead on untreated steel? CF = What is the effect of cupronickel or copper alloys on untreated steel? What is the effect of "Nitro" powders on untreated steel? -
I’ve read quite a bit on the subject and am myself a “cleaner” but leaving out the accuracy implications why would you leave a barrel dirty? Can anyone explain why a rifle is less accurate with a clean barrel because I’m doubtful that they are.

It's got to be a 31/2 SA. They will do everything but why can't they be used on pheasants? -
I'm sure you're not by yourself, only ever use .22 for subsonics in the garden. So sold one of the .22s, will keep one "just in case"

I can vouch for the cartridges the gear makes. They are spot on.

The Police are making me break the law
Oops Missed Again replied to countryman's topic in General Shooting Matters
We must be very lucky down here in hillbilly land, we get very few delays with Avon and Somerset firearms dpt and they are very helpful. -
I'm very sorry got you mixed up with someone else (it's my age) It has taught me a couple of things reading it all again, there is very little middle ground in this debate as there is in life, and hatred is alive and well. My views have been exhausted so back to shooting matters
-
I'm very sorry Mother Teresa I must have it all wrong, like the 90% on here who think he is a thug. I don't believe a word you write, and if you think what he did was ok yes you are a danger
-
That's what you would have done is it I don't kno what rank you are but I would love to meet you and your superiors and have them read this. Do you own or use a gun?
-
Great, maybe tongue in cheek, but true. Anyway back to reality and thugs not SAS, as it's got nothing to do with this debate. I am very very concerned at the vicious attitude of this bunch of big brave women bashers on here. Do they own guns? my god I hope not.
-
There is nothing to discuss. It changes nothing.
-
Thanks for your views. It's good to hear from owners of the guns. Looking at a Savage 25 but good god they are so ugly. I know the crow or fox won't mind the looks of the gun but I certainly do! As for long range work I try and keep the distace down a bit these days rather than shoot 3 fields away.

So

Shame, I use 30 grain berger varmint, but still got 400 to keep me going.
-
Thanks chaps I get the impression there aren't many out there being used so I will get one and test it. Tried the 204 brass but didn't get on very well with it, but I expect that was operator error as I'm still a novice at loading!
-
Has anyone purchased and used the new .17 Hornet to good effect. Got a .17 Rem and love it but when it needs replacing, Hornet maybe, 204, one of each ??

Good morning At last, you have summed up the whole debate "Respect is earnt not given freely" who in there right mind can respect that person for what he did. He handled it incorrectly as his superiors said. If you support him and some of you have openly agree you would do the same, then yes I will call you thugs. I know a bit about respect and so will you one day when you've got a few more "T shirts" Would you have done the same thing as he did?
-
Just googled "troll" and can assure you it was not intended as " an inflammatory, messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional responseor of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion" Also to me you are a sonny so show some respect please Second that
-
Sorry but what does that mean, sonny
-
What I find difficult to believe is the thugs on here that are defending this nasty piece of work are allowed firearms. I wonder if police thugs are automatically allowed guns. They obviously can't control there tempers so shouldn't be allowed guns. If the law abiding members on here had views like them, we would be investigated.
-
Substantiated complaints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
My most humble apoligies to you if you are/were a policeman. I have insinuated they are all the same. You are not the same and come over as a very decent person.
-
On here with you lot? Comedian, aren't you. You don't now what violence is in civvy street
-
Sorry you feel that is a bit strong, and yes I have been in a similar position and I didn't push a women onto the ground. Totally agree with you about the scum bags, but the police are treating everyone the same these days. I would put my life on it there a hundreds and hundreds of law abiding forum members on here who have been miss treated by them Yes Yes and Yes
