  1. I disagree entirely with your comment a shotgun "safety" only prevents the trigger being pulled, when would you ever pull the trigger when not intending to shoot something? A loaded gun is never "safe" I'm sorry I'm so thick but I've read your statement 6 times and still don't understand. What has safety got to do with the internal workings of a shotgun.
  2. Surely it's not a matter of preference it is a matter of common sense. Anything to do with safety is a must and auto safety makes sure the gun is safe when it's opened reloaded and closed. I'm still trying to work out how you missed a couple of clays with the clubs auto safety Oli. Can anyone explain why a manual safety is as safe as an auto.
  3. I think you maybe right, when something new comes on the market so many people give them a battering before they've even fired one, let alone owned one. How many critics on here have stripped a gun down? and I mean every pin and spring, evaluated it and then criticized. Not many I bet. But that's life these days, a lot of people thinking they know a lot because they have picked it up and swung it around. I believe people like that should stick to things they know about not what they think they know about.
  4. The action block is machined from a solid steel forging. The first visible difference is the jointing seems to be back to front, with the concave curve in the block itself and the convex curve on the fore-end iron. Stub pins are built into the fore-end iron, but the gun does not truly hinge on these. They form a convenient rearward latch for the fore-end iron when the gun is assembled, and the barrels actually hinge on quarter-circle cut-outs in the action walls which engage with similarly-shaped projections in the barrel monobloc. This feature provides huge load-bearing areas compared to pins of any kind, and makes for incredibly strong jointing with little chance of ever shooting loose I cannot prove these words so I am going to buy one and strip it down. My first thoughts are that it would take 30 seconds to tighten like a lot of guns. Did you strip yours down, Gorden R, when you owned one?
  5. Why won't this ugly gun tighten up? ( not that it will need tightening, unlike those cheap Italian things)
  6. Listening to radio 4 today (yes sad old b)and a programme confirmed my findings in some parts of the country there is a large increase in magpies. Unlike pigeons which have disappeared in my area. Perhaps the chap on PW who was hung drawn quartered and his bits sent to Coventry and burnt had the right idea about a closed season for pigeons.
  7. Yes, I've never worked that one out. Also how terrorists can become "gods" and visa versa. We humans are a strange lot!!!!!
  8. I've come to realise a lot of people on here want something for nothing. Get it mot'ed fill it with fuel, offer to deliver it and you will have a taker or ten!!
  9. Will have some bits for this GAEP loader please Graham
  10. No sorry sold. got 20 28 and 410 but no 12!!
  11. NOW SOLD Thanks to those who showed interest.
  12. Shame on you!!!! Yes it's a little stainless pin
  13. Hi Yes answered very well thanks. The first thing I noticed instantly was the heavy recoil on the Benelli (in comparison) The AL391 Teknys Stonecoat Gold Game, with the green sticker, which I think is the game, was lighter recoil, and what a pretty gun, to nice for me as I was frightened to use it and get it marked! I am always on about the feel of a gun and its not just the fit, it's a combination of many things I believe. Just like driving a car, drive a Range Rover and then a Land Cruiser totally different feel but which is the best one?
  14. How about the felt recoil? Did you fire one after the other within a few seconds? And what is "as well" as the Beretta? Sorry it sounds abrupt I didn't mean it to be.
  15. Yes down in Zumerzet they are on the increase. A great surviver that seems to eat anything.
  16. Ive had both and for me the Maxus "feels" much better and yes, half the felt recoil. You must go to a RFD with a range and fire both guns one after each other. It's amazing how different they are.i bought 7 semis and its very interesting comparing them. Just because you spend a lot it doesn't mean you get a lot!!
  17. Oh please don't sit on the wall.
  18. Very interesting, 3 camps- believers and disbelievers. and the ssip takers!! But something very disturbing coming over is the amount of cold blooded killers on PW who have no respect for any living creature. Very sad day for the genuine shooter/conservationist when the "cowboy killers" take over our great pastime. 995i just read your input, makes a lot of sense from someone with experience.
  19. Sorry can't be, the tail is all wrong for a big cat. Looks more like an angry sheep whose tail hasn't been lopped.
  20. We have got one in the area. In fact we have got two. One was spotted 4 days ago. Most locals never say anthing because there are frightened "cowboys" with guns will try and shoot it But as you are a total disbeliever you would have pulled the trigger would you? You really need to make your mind up about things. Do you believe or not? So any dangerous animal should be shot? Well you sound very trigger happy and dangerous lets hope your next The truth is out there.
  21. 2nd that, why would one shoot it? can someone please explain. A couple who have commented on here obviously would, can you please say why.
  22. Hi Someone wants it I'm near Taunton, Somerset Cheers
