  2. I had the same thoughts a year ago borrowed a G22 for a week and gave it back after 2 days load of feed problems and it was inaccurate. Bought another 10/22 with CST bolt open mod (with special mags) moderator (P?H just got a SAK this weekend better) harris bi pod and hogue stock as I've got long arms and a recoil buffer. Great on rabbits to 75 Yards. Buy the 10/22 they are so popular for a reason.
  3. I'm going to screw fix on Monday now had been looking in B&Q today!!!
  4. Cheers guys looks like its a SAK and if thats not great I'll try fieldwanderer's adaptation bit.
  5. I have a Parker and Hale moderator on my 10/22 but don't think it is a quite as my old one. What are other people using for lamping and what do yourecomend that wont brake the bank? A mate recommends SAK mob, never heard one!
  6. I've got an old one of those vest left from Ireland if anyone wants cheap I'll look it out.
  7. Vests like pictured are ok but hurt your back if loaded and you walk a long way, they where made for N Ireland for drivers. the newer vests are ok but you can't lie prone properly. The belt webbing is best and you can just put pouches at the side if you need to drive. If you don't like camo colour buy then older green stuff it's cheaper anyway.
  8. Hi Have a spare black abs one on the loft, its off a carbine not use much put a Hogue on pretty much straight away.
  9. Neels Hope he enjoys it and Good luck.
  10. I was thinking of a second stock and then have it fitted (paid £250 for Westley Richards to do my gun and less for the local gunsmith with my Beretta). Saw a stock on Flee Bay for £65. She has no problem with holding the gun up we are both in the Army and used to heavier rifles so she has the muscles (just keeps trying to aim not point). Not keen on Semi Autos don't like not being able to see if the gun is safe from a distance. I'd look to spend around £500 for frist gun for her.
  11. So if I have this right a gun with short barrels (24-26inch) with 13 inch stock (with a pad) that is then fitted to her correctly. Item 12 or 20 Bore firing light loads not more that 24g. Most guns people have recommended are O/U are these better or does everyone just use them now? What happened to the Great British SBS. If and O/U is best could I get a short stock and barelles for my Beretta 682 and then have it fitted by a gunsmith? To many questins now.
  12. Cheers guys got get a gun I'm 6'4 and with my guns in the shoulder she can't reach the trigger. I would rather get a break barrel as don't like semi autos myself, (never owned one) but use pumps and S/As at work and there can be safety issues with people not used to shotguns.
  13. I'm looking to buy the wife a new gun, she has just started shooting. I have had a look and think a 20B would be best or a light weight 12B with light loads. The problem is she is only small 5'2 and slight build. I remeber as a young lad shooting a 12B and it kicking like a mule (bit like my 8B now) and don't want to put her off. Has anyone (particularly ladies) got any advice or experience. Don't want to spend the earth in case she gives up.
  14. I bought mine with a black synthetic stick but changed it for a Hogue as its a better grip and a bit long pull. As fitted a CST auto bolt catch so the action stays open after the last round is fired, (like every other semi auto). Great gun tho.
  15. Sale agreed just awaiting hand over with Neels
  16. Sorry Neels keen to get the £95 now as local gunsmith has offered that, but would rather it went somewhere where it will be used regularly. I have pictures I can email anyone now but can't post them for some reason?
  17. NOW SOLD TO NEELS ENJOY THE GUN> I have an old single barrel folding 'Parkemy' 410 I'm thinking of selling. It’s got a 28 inch barrels (blueing all in good condition and clean bores), hammer side lever with most of its colour case hardening and a plain but nice oiled stock. It’s a 3 inch chamber and I think full choke. I'm not really using it now so is anyone interested? It’d be a great first gun for a youngster, looking for around £95.
