  1. Hi Gents, Apology for the name error I ment (David Basc). David can you make it very clear to everybody what its the problem in this moment in time with Pigeon shooting, please specify every subject in bullet points so that we can all start researching, and in case of a Conference we will be prepared on the issues. Please David don't start telling us about the OGL points, otherwise instead of coming to us for a Conference you should go to the Professional shooters and try to stop them, due to the fact that is arguable that what they are doing complies with OGL rules. Even on ebay there are organize shooting day now. My gunsmith told me 2 weeks ago that in a meeting with the pinewood Rep. they talked about the numbers of pigeons killed by the Professional (in a season) and the numbers where over 5000 for everyone, I probally kill 200 in a season if I'm lucky. So who should you start to eliminate from the chain?? Does BASC supports the many thousands of people that are going for Pest (sport)control???? Or Basc will not challenge the big guns?? Mark
  2. Hi Gents, I've reading all your replies, some are quite amusing, some are a bit silly but that not the point. First of all try not to argue nor insult knowone for his opinion, at this point in time we should be teaming up and not shoot at each other. There are many questions that needs to be ask, I personally think that a Conference its perfect and I even be prepared to pay 50 notes if helps to defend my ( hobby ) if I can call it so. As a suggestion if I was in all your shoes its, think very carefully what you are writing on this forum and don't bite at everybone offered. People can use your answers against very easily. ----- Mark basc------ if you really are who you saying you are, don't you think you should start thinking about a plan of action to calm many people down and a research on the subject probally will help, you not really helping yourself here if you want a conference. I'm really looking forward for an open discussion on this matter but we need to discuss all the points on the subject and try to move forward with our (hobby). Thanks Mark
  3. Hi Chaps, I've been reading a few topics were people didn't know what to do with dead pigeons, I was reading Shooting Times ( 4 Jan issue ) and found an advert that mite be interesting for all of us. 5. Hi Lads, Same thing here in the West Midlands, no pigeon on OSR the problem that I have its the the rape its more than a foot long on the field that I can shoot, do you think that they will still go for it in Jan ? Cheers
  6. Thanks a lot lads, All the help its apreciated. Dazza it looks the part that franchi and there is no match with the one that its on sale over here, I must admit that by the look of it in the USA you get more value for money on lots of stuff. I've emailed franchiusa.com with a plea to sell me one, I've work it all out easy done, when they send some to the USA and take for granted that the flying over the west midlands it take a sec to drop one down wih a tiny parachute. Thanks again Marco
  7. I want to buy a Franchi reinessance elite, 12ga 28 inch M\C, that it's for sale only in USA. In England you can buy the Harrier but there is no comparison. Could anyone help or suggest or a could link where I can get advice? I know that Americans buy from UK but does it work either ways? Thanks Mark
  8. Hi all, Well what can I say, its always the same story, you try to take out this novices and teach how to shoot.......... and the first thing that they do its to claiming birds that they in the air (not flying) because I did shoot it a second before you Shawn And while we discussing this, will you stop try to shoot bird at 80yards!!!!!!!!!! you still learning the 25 yard range. By the way the left&right from yesterday only happened because your gun double fired :( Marco
  9. Hi Gents, We were planning to go shooting this Sunday but our scout (Shawn) went out today and checked all his land and the only birds that he could find were two Crows (on round about 2000-4000 acres, took Shawn nearly 3 hours to check it all). Now we don't know what to do if to go or not. Where do you think that all the birds are? Would you still go ( I would) ? Do you think that they my be there on sunday? I think the condition will be perfect and the moral will be sky high the only thing will be the Birds? I know that you will be not able to forecast if it will be a good shooting day, i would like your opinion and what you would do? Thanks Marco
  10. Hi, Fully agree on the suppliers advert shouldn't be allow if they haven't payed, but at the same time I log on to this forum to obtain usefull information for my sport. As a reminder, this is PIGEON SHOOTING CHAT were people should be able to chat freely and exchange information. Now I've this feeling that this forum is dictated by sponsors. I shouldn't PM knowone to obtain information I'm no secret agent. I'm not trying to stir the **** at all but its pretty sad to see this happening. Thanks marco
  11. Hi chaps, Apology for this huge incovenient, I guess it's my fault I've started it up. I've posted the post in the wrong section, I thought that this was the section that people were discussing about new gear and were to buy it and how it works, stupid me it must be due to the Italian blood in me :< :< :< Could someone suggest were is that forum were people are free to discuss about shooting equipment and in wich shop to buy? By the way, I normally buy where equipment its at a cheaper price and normally it's easy to find it by reading on this forum. Thanks Marco
  12. Hi Chaps, Always used Gamebore clear pigeon n.6 32g plastic wad they work very well in summer and winter and very important they don't leave much dirt in the gun. Marco

  14. Hi chaps, I have many answer to give you............ 1) Shawn I'm going to a Witch to take the spell off :( 2) Ivan, unfortunally DEAKO forgot to pack 2 stealth net when sending our order, it should arrive this week. 3) "Deako" :< I've received the sticks not long ago and now you tell me that you have the new model not fair you should send ( as compensation) a couple and a halve for selling me old sticks and another couple and a halve for not sending stealth nets, that shoul make 5 brand new type sticks Many thanks P.S. Does anyone knows a good Witch that can take the spell form Shawn...........
  15. Hi chaps, Just bought from ukshootwarehouse 10 new sticks (on offer 10 for £9.99) well these sticks are pretty impressive, the shells looked like real pigeons pecking on the rape with a tiny amount of wind. Buy them and you will not be disapointed Cheers Mark (p.s.) To the shooting gang, hope you'll have a red letter day on Saturday if we going, as usual thanks Shawn for the Invite.
  16. There is only one thing that you can do my friend now that you taken it into your house, care about it as it was your best mate and then when is old enough let him go it will soon find the way to survive. As you can see everybody here as given nearly the same suggestions that means probally that we not cruel killers and heartless as some ****head would like to describe us but we all know how to take care of our wildlife, good for you mate you done the right thing. Hope that you and your new mate will have fun. Marco
  17. Dear Ochre, What you really need as I told you before it's a nice SILMA Supreme series for round about £300 and this come with some lessons too by a well know professionist pigeon shooter. I've spoke today with Bettinsoli Italy after reading all these articles of double firing and they told me that there as been a problem in a batch of guns but now solved. Lincoln is another fine gun for the price but I personally think that you need a cheap but good gun, Beretta you pay for the name and a bit of the engraving but it doesn't shoot for you, got the point. cheers
  18. Hi Gents, My brother in law has bought a very nice Irish Setter that we are training and we thought that will be nice to go for a couple of days shooting Woodcocks. If you some information, phone numbers or contacts could you please let me know, it will be very apreciate for your help. Thanks Marco
  19. Well chaps is a while that I wasn't writing on the site but today is worth it. We were (myself and Ocre) invited by Shawn9914 for a day out on his land for a day shooting, we arrived there at 9.00am with the hope of a good day of shooting we met with Shawn that after the usual presentation (first time that we met Shawn) we started to look for pigeons, first field not much, second field not enough at that point the hope start to go on the low and Shawn was starting to say that sometimes there is not many birds.third field, some pigeons taking off about 7-10 at that point we set up in one corner of the field and Shawn told us that normally birds will arrive in the afternoon. Ok everything its ready 10.00am first pigeon its coming in after 15 min. we had 5 from there on it was paradise 2-3 birds every 5 min. unbelivable barrels were red hot cartdriges were getting low, at 16.00pm we had nearly 100 pigeons, WHAT A GREAT DAY thanks to Shawn9914 PS If Ocre or Shawn will say the number of cartdriges that I've shot don't trust them it was 185 not 200......... :( B) It's better if I go for a bit of practice Thanks Shawn and Ochre for the great day
  20. Which gun do you own? Most semi-auto have kits that you can buy directly from the maker. Unfortunally UK market doesn't import guns with predrillled taps, then you have to do it yourself but it's pretty straight forward. The only drilling that you have to do is on the stock most shotgun makers will sell you the conversion plate to fix onto the magazine end with the sling. Cheers Marco
  21. Hi chaps, Has anyboby used or own this type of semi-auto (Fabarm H368 LION ) if so would you give it a good review? Thanks Marco
  22. Just take it easy mate, one step at the time try not to stress your eye to much, in September you will be out shooting again. Hope that you will get better very soon.(trust me there is not much to shoot at now) Get Well Marco
  23. Hi chaps, Me and Ochre we been shooting together for the last few weeks on NPPC land in West Haddon (Good fields to shoot on) but we would like to have a go somewhere else in Derby/Burton-Leicester area. Do you have a good tip for us where to go? I'll phone John Shooter tonight and ask for some tips and hes always keane to help us. Thanks Marco
  24. Hi everybody, My sister, she's looking for a dog for my little nephew and she asked me if I have any good breeds to suggest. My nephew his 4 1/2 years old and with a lovely attitude to wards animals despite my sister that she scared of everything. We have always owned English setters in Italy but now that we live in England and the dog will live in the house we looking for something different and with short coat. I've suggested to my sister that if she buys a gundog I will pay halve and train it. Do you have any good suggestions on the type of dog that we should buy based on your experience? Thanks Marco
