  1. I knew I would get this as soon as I posted Good good, Just making sure it's all going to plan. Ive not bred ferrets before and don't wunt nowt to go wrong! There will prob be a lot more silly questions over the next month ive become quite attached to my Jill N I only want the best adivce from PW members!! Cheers Paul!
  2. Hi all, I put my Hob and Jill together this morning to do the deed... After a very disturbing mating ritual Ive just taken her back to her crib. Its been a few hours now since seperation and her "private parts" are inflamed and there is a slight discharge, is this normal in the hours following mating... Also how long will it take her to concieve, and for me to be able to tell if he worked? Cheers
  3. Thanks people! The dig was about 6ft into a bank, didnt look too bad until we hit the heavy clay at about 3ft down!! (There was a fair bit if sweat flowing !) Then he moved into a stop end that was another 5ft of digging, only light soil there though thank the lord! I havnt worked the hob as yet, but Ive had the Jill and a mates hob working well together, had about 20 bunnies from 6 burys since crimbo! She's doing excellent. Cant wait to see my hob in action, even the slightest sniff of a bunnie for his tea gets him bouncing round the cage (Although this could mean a few layups, as he's a fair size now.. ) Thats reminds me... Need new battries for the finder collers!! Going out again at the weekend for a snoot around a few more copse's in the area for any more charlie's with any big ideas about having lamb dinners in there short futures!!! Cheers
  4. Hi all, Havnt posted many photos lately because my bluetooth dongle on the pc broke, Just had my new one, here some pics from the past few weeks. Enjoy! Mr. Charile dug out in a wood last weekend! Another Mr. Charlie this time snared pretty near the farmhouse! (And no it isn't the same fox as above before someone asks!) Last nights outing with the .22RF My New Hob Big Bob! My other Jill in her new home away from Big Bob the Bully!
  5. I have a raider 10 and I charge it with a logun pump. I struggled to get it past 70ish psi once and although the probe seals looked fine I replaced them and it went straight up to 250! (Well I say straight up, after a bit of a workout! )
  6. I found one of them owls at a scrapyard excatly like the one in the pic when I was out shootin rats, I gave it to my mum for her garden. I never knew it would attract corvids!!! Think its time I had it back and take it for a spin!! Cheers 4 that!!
  7. Oh great, Thanks wickedandlazee this has really brightened up my Sunday evening "Queer Johnny"
  8. Ive had a small polecat Jill for 12 months now, and Ive just aquired a 2yr old Hob. He's a big chap almost twice her size. The hutch and court I have my jill in is plenty big enough for more ferts but ive just put them together for the first time now in a small play pen thing I have and they started sqeaking and sniffing each other, followed shortly by the hob biting the jill on the neck, although the jill did not look 2 botherd by this. Is this normal behavior when mixing the 2. Ive got them in seperate pens for tonight, Is it wise moving them intogether into the larger enclosure, or are they going to hurt each other. If the Hob hurts my Jill ther will be hell to pay!!! Any advice appreciated!
  9. Yeah, thats right Cranfield I started out going to write a post on your opinions on snaring over the lambing season, but wrote the post about the fox I had that day... Must have been away with the fairys when I wrote it... My bad!
  10. Had my foxing pals out with the terriers on saterday, Picked up the scent in a copse near the farm year (Where theres 400 ewes preparing to lamb!) Let the dogs loose and they bolted a nice sized vixen from some briars straight into Jons (Dogs owner) 12G! I can still smell a lot about round my ground first thing in the morning when im out and about, so hope to have a few nights with his .222 before we lamb! Let you know how we get on!
  11. Ive got a Raider 10, and Ive been using RWS SuperDome for both target and live quarry theyve been doing an excellent job for me since I got the gun 3-4 months ago!
  12. It's disturbing. I got a serious phobia of clowns... So I thought this would be a great project
  13. Mines a .gif image I made for a HND project, took me months!! So proud I am
  14. Ive taken my youngest Jack Russell which is 1 out with me ferreting. I just got my brother to hold the dog on a lead and I held the ferret closer and closer to it to see if there was a reaction. My dog didnt give a **** about the jill but I havnt put the dog to work the holes and cant say that if my fert came out quickly the dog wouldnt mistake it for a bunnie.. See if your dog reacts to the fert firstly and sign of a bad temper and its a no no! Its up to you to chance having them both running between the holes tho
  15. Dont suppose anyone would have any 3 point harness (2-3" Strap Width) kicking about they want rid of? Worth a try!
  16. I made a few simple targets from some wire and empty shotgun shells! Does the trick! Make a few and stick um in the ground at various distances and make the wire different lengths to get some vertical shooting in! Im so bored here in college ive made you a diagram
  17. Youd have to be seriously careful shooting there then! Only shoot into a garenteed backstop on your property, should the pellet travel into anyone elses property or worse onto a public highway youd be right in it! Trapping would be the safest bet in a built up area!!
  18. It was fine here until I read this post, turned round looked out window... Its belting it down with sleet!! BRING ON THE SNOW so I can get out with my Suzi!!!
  19. Not really Pedro. You sometimes tend to get some oil in the air filter which causes a massive smoke out! But its easily cleaned! As were not in the mod class Helmets are non-essential. We have the complete safty harness kits in all our 4X4s which does the job should we take a tumble as its only class 3 (Off-road 4X4 with no major engine or chassis modifcations) the sections are reletivly straight forward although latley they do seem to be getting slightly harder.... Anyway, its deffinatly one of the best motor sports around and I enjoy greatly! We trail once a month in the Mid-Wales, Midlands area and I suggest if you can, come and spectate! Or even enter!!
  20. Hi all! Started trailing 4X4s a few months back and today was my first (and second roll ) The first being a complete over sideways down a 8 foot drop and back onto wheels job, and the second only onto my side. Started the day with a straight Suzuki SJ ended with it having all the panels bashed in, a buckled wheel, smashed windshield (as seen in piccy... ) and the drivers door wont open ! On the bright side I won 2nd prize in class 3 open and the booby prize of a swiss roll for the best roll of the day Anyone here a member of the AWDC (All Wheel Drive Club)? We were in Farley quarry today (near ironbridge)
  21. Im out ferreting tomorrow morning, and hopfully if the weathers good, goin over rape seed on sunday next door.. fingers crossed!
