  1. UPDATE... Sorry guys wanted to update this link because I tried out my mates SMK20 which he bought New with a bag and SMK scope for £100. When I compared it to my Weirauch it was near identical. Same safety, same barrel length.... Differences were power is down at 8.4 instead of 11.6. Not a threaded barrel so no silencer, but when we tested the sound level with a DB meter they both read 105dB!! Explain that one please? trigger is cheap, trigger guard is identical. Wood stock isn't the same quality, but very nice anyway and iron sights mounted for those who like them. So did I like it? , I would be more vocal on this one but I am too busy swallowing my humble pie  So with the best part of £200 in your pocket, you can get a lot of tuning on a very nice rifle which is incredibly accurate at 30 yards. I am going to buy one to take out with the kids on targets at the gun club when I get some spare cash. Sorry Weirauch but you are going to have to justify why you charged me the extra £200!!! For all those arguing in favour of SMK I bow to your greater appreciation of a bargin when it lands in your lap.
  2. Flipping ehck, those must be expensive nuts and bolts....three Guard dogs
  3. I got a remap for my Disco 2, huge improvement in driveability and performace, but fuel economy???? Maybe because it drives better and I boot it more, but it was about 27mpg before and it now gives 28mpg. I was told to expect around 3 mpg didn't happen. Would I get it done again was it worth £400 :look: you get a decent re-mapp for about £250ish. Lots of tuners to chose from, check out one of the offroad mags or google it. Good luck, hope you enjoy it

  5. Just bought a set of Grabber AT2''s from http://www.silverlinewheels-tyres.com/ give them a go, they were cheapest for mine, not by much, but next day delviery and very helpful and knowledgable.
  6. Gents, Its not snobbery for me, I would have loved to keep the Cheaper SMK as I don't have money to through away, but I really do not have the expertise that many of you seem to have when it comes to stripping a gun down to improve it. Otherwise I would do and would have saved myself £100 I therefore chose to buy something that I could shoot right away. And by the by, I never stated that the SMK's were inaccurate as the old one I had was very good at 25 yards. It just started to become very loose around the breach and very loud after being on the moors with me for a while and I got a bargin on the other rifle As with golf clubs, it isn't so much what they are like, it is how they are used that makes the difference. Good luck in chosing the right rifle
  7. Oh! So many choices?? Both are good cars, both have pro's and cons. I went for the Disco TD% and have not expericenced any of the faults that everyone reports. I also know quite a few people who have them and they also have not experienced the problems reported. Parts are cheap and all garages can fix them, unless its the electricarry bit. X trail is good also. My advice is try them both to see what suits you best
  8. Hi guys, just a point. I have a BSA Lighting a Weibruch and purchased a SMK for knocking around in the field. I paid £60 for it secoond hand including scope. I sold it after 6-weeks for £25. Reason, if I knocked it around in the field it wasn't going to last very long. As the man says, Buy cheap buy twice. I got a second hand lighting XL for £110, so much more rifle for not much more cash.
  9. I just bought one of these too. Traded in my Lighting XL for it Can't wait to use it, but didn't realise it was going to be that pellet fussy? Anyone got any strong recommmendations on .22 as I don't really want to be purchasing lots of new tins right now? I am out to a permission tomorrow to Zero then go bunny bashing
  10. fitted these to my Wifes Freelander 2 http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/...l/home/index_en. brilliant and last set lasted 27000 miles. same terrain as you describe cost £145/corner.
  11. Turbo's Very expensive when you blow them up lots of other tweaks to do before boosting the turbo vane. why do you want 150bhp? are you going racing?
  12. Weber Had a stainless one , disposables burn everything and some fancy ones, well Ray mears never needed one that cost £450
