  8. as far as having only 1 'customer' it doesnt matter to the tax man or any1 else if you are invoicing different amounts, i.e. you are not on a weekly wage. this shows that you are doing work as and when available therefore se. Just do it all legit and put atleast 20% of your earnings away if it isnt stopped at source otherwise you will have nasty tax bills Edd

  10. stripped down an old rizzini months ago to get barrels powder coated but never got round to it, now considering spraying the whole lot but not sure about a pattern, looks hard to do properly. Might just try black for now, could always try a pattern later
  11. ive been self employed since i was 17(thats more than a few years ago now!!!) and dont think it makes too much difference in any aspect. Depending on who is paying you you may have to pay your own tax and ni, if (at least in the building industry) you are payed by a contactor hthey will stop your tax and you just need to fill in areturn at the end of the year. I NEVER employ anyone and regulaurly have upto 30 people working for me on se basis. it just makes my life easieer with regards to employers regulations etc. Just contact your local tax office(i expect you can prob do it online now) and get your tax code sorted (utr no. for building) Edd
