i just fitted 1 to a rizzini that i have just refurbed. it looks good but dont know how well it works as havnt had chance to shoot yet. fitting was easy, just a wipe with the cloth supplied and stick it on, making sure to ge it in the right place first time!!! have tried it whilst shouldering the gun and i think it will more than likely help my shooting. Hi guys, i am going to start a new project 2moro to tidy up an old single barrel folding 410 for my nephews. I was thinking of cuuting the stock and barrel as the boys are both very young\small but dont want to cut the barrel too short. What is the legal minimum? apart from the loss of power/range\pattern is there anything i should consider before i bring out the angle grinder? Thanks Edd

Hi guys, Just been to check on my new Howa 1500 in .243 flavour......mmmmmmmmmmmm.... just need to finish paying for it now. Anyway, I wanted to get your opinions on the rest of the kit that comes with it. Wildcat predator mod..... i'm sure there cant be anything wrong with this or worth changing? beretta every time. Nowt wrong with the escorts but cant beat the beretta quality!! My 301 has a battering all the time and doesnt miss a beat. Never fails to cycle any old carts i happen to have hanging about.....although that doesnt mean i can hit anything!! HAve you noticed the 303 on the cover ofthis months sporting shooter? Edd

Thanks for all the replies guys. Have had a look at them all and decided to get a 10/22. Local club has a new 1 for £220. beech stock etc, pretty basic but cheap enough. I wont be getting it for at least a week or so, so if anyone here knows for a 10/22 with synthetic/folding/more than one stock please let me know. Thanks Edd

Finally got my fac back on Thursday with variation for .243.......Have put a deposit on a howa 1500 but am now considering other options(second hand) The howa comes with a cheap nikko sterling scope, t8 mod, hard case and i think 20 rounds for 750, i know its a good deal but not sure whether a second hand one might allow for a better name? or am i asking too much for a gun at this price? Does anyone use a howa? Thanks Edd

Hi guys, Just got my fac back with a variation for another .22. I am looking for something CHEAP, as it is just for plinking down the range. I need a semi auto, preferably synthetic stock, preferably screw cut but not essential. Dont need a scopr as i have plenty to suit but would take as part of a deal if need be. MUST BE CHEAP. as i have 4 new slots on my ticket and this 1 is just a toy!!!! Open to any suggestions of what you guysmight have for sale. Thanks Edd

Wow, some, shall we say 'heated discussion' on this topic. I have to say that from watching the initial clips i could see where the original post was coming from. Many of the shots look very badly placed, if my shooting was that bad i certainly wouldnt be posting it on utube(oh wait an minute i dont post on there??? maybe that says something about my shooting ) However, all of the susequent posts and information offered changed my view. The information about the way the arrowhead will damage organs etc and how quickly most of the animals will die convinces me that bow hunting, when done properly in no less humane than any ather type of hunting. I have tried using a bow, in fact i have a crossbow which is great fun, but i was useless with the bow even after several practice sessions and some coaching so i have great respect for the skill these guys have, not to mention the fieldcraft to get within range!! I really shouldnt have been so ignorant of the facts of bow hunting but once again this site has increased my knowledge aswell as entertained. ATB Edd

I just bought a hawke 3-9x50 from the other sales on here for £30, posted with mounts. it is brand new in the box and will happily sit on hmr, or in my case on the .22lr for a cheap knock about and do the job perfectly well. No need to spend a fortune. Edd
