Taking a friend out with my spare rifle
Wrighty112 replied to safetyfirst's topic in General Shooting Matters
Just to make sure... You can take a friend with you rough shooting with a shotgun and asking as they stay close they can use my spare shotgun even though he/she doesn't have a shotgun cert. Sry to go off track a little just had a mate acompany me a few times an askedif I could allow him to use my spare shotgun. -
Sry should of been more specific. I have some 3" and 3.5" magnum shot carts I was just woundering if this was ok for marsh an also read a thread on here that someone mentioned that if Leads banned that would also mean rifle rounds an lead pellets for air rifle. I might have the wrong end of the stick but would like someone to either confirm or set me straight cheers

Is this an alternitive to steel an can be used on marshes also if/when the lead ban comes will these still be manifatured? Just curious really...

Was a boring morning an it was rainning :-(. So being bored I got the guns out for a clean which wasted a few hours an then the tap was turned off an the in came out with his hat on so deside to dirty up my o/u :-).... Walked to bottom of a field an but out 10 flocked shells an sat under a few tree. With I'm minutes a large flock flew over an dropped two :-) it then started to rain so packed up an went home, lol. Tomorrow nights tea sorted though :-).

Was on the phone to the RFD about my baikal mp135.... Since it refuses to be reliable he had his gun smith tale a look an his diagnoses was that I can use anything less than 3.5" carts :-s.... Two other local dealers have said it will cycle 2.5" 1oz carts no bother. Is he just making up **** Either way I think I'm just going to trade it back in an go for my 1st choice which was a hatsan escort 3.5" magnum... My mate Got one the same time I got mine, fired the same number of carts, and same type an has performs spotless so far.... I am open to sugestions if anyone knows a good semi auto for around £400... Please let me know :-) regards

I've just ordered the exact carts from my local frd an he's charging me £50 for 250 carts. -
My baikal semi has a single, makes it easier to lug around the marsh etc...

Semi auto question (just comfirming what a guy said)
Wrighty112 replied to Wrighty112's topic in Guns & Equipment
cheers for the replys, reason i was asking is that i have had problems with my baikal getting stoppages, and the dealer said it was how i was holding and telling me it uses inertia to recoil even though it has a gas recoil system, so took it back again and finially it had stoppages when he tested and an then told me the ejectors faulty... now getting it repaired for free :-) -
Me an a friend set up around about 10.30 this morning in a field with a good tree line right in the path of a few flight lines. Set up 32 decoys. 10 shells with wobbled sticks 18 full pigeon and 5 crow... Nothing happened for a while then I had my first kill of around 50yrds floating tight into the pattern. Next one was driven right into the decoys at high speed an knocked it out of the sky. The third was a crown shot by my mate and the last kill of the day was a high pigeon right above up an I hit it an it actually fell an landed right on my mates head (couldn't of done it better if I tried, lol). All that was in around 45min-1hour an then the farmer came in an appoligised and the started plowing the field :-(. As we walked away flocks of birds everywhere :-(... Think I might have to befriend the neighbouring farmer for permission in his fields.

Could be heat expanding the barrel etc... An letting it cool allows it to shrink to narmal.

Took my biakal back to the shop again after it's still playing up. He tested it again an loaded 3 shots. Bang...bang...bang. ****** I thought so he loaded another 3 an bang...stop :-). Done it again 3 more times so he's getting the ejectors changed etc... For free :-).

Semi auto question (just comfirming what a guy said)
Wrighty112 replied to Wrighty112's topic in Guns & Equipment
Cheers guys... Do some guns use both gas an inertia system?? -
Any special oils. Cleaners etc... Anyone recommend. Cheers

Ive been in the army cadets and the TA to so I'm not a novice to shooting, however i'm new to shotguns so just little confussed. When a catridge discharges the gas enters the gas parts into the gas cilinder and forces the piston to recoil the bolt... Removing the spent catridge an reloading a fresh one. That's all fair an well but a mate said that shotguns also use the force from the carriage to force the bolt back once released from the barrel (if u get my meaning) Is this true? If So it could answer a few questions. Cheers in advance :-)
