  1. I think we are all reeling in shock at the way this has been sprung upon us. We are all responding in exactly the same way by stating the obvious facts about the crop damage , risk to the vulnerable nests of this current breeding season. We are trying to appeal to anyone who will listen by using the argument that our contribution in predator and vermin control is vital to the countryside and wildlife. We seem to be forgetting that Packham and his cronies are not bothered too much about the natural predation of wildlife or crop protection. Their main objective is the abolition of Shooting live quarry of any type for sport. I watched an interview where Piers Morgan laid out some reasonable questions regarding the present ban and the effect it would have on farming and breeding birds. Packham was quite disingenuous in his response, stating that it was not intended to prevent farmers from protecting their crops and he even acknowledged that some predator species needed to be controlled , but the purpose of the ban was to prevent people shooting birds for enjoyment! This is the whole nub of the matter. It is OK to carry out certain methods of control as long as you are not doing it for pleasure! The attack is on Sporting Shooting of any kind, including Driven Grouse, Driven Pheasant ,Partridge etc. Abolition of the pursuit of any live quarry at all is their goal and they are using their connection with the BBC as a platform to further their mission. When this was pointed out to him by the Piers Morgan interviewer, he shuffled in his seat and claimed he doesn't actually work for the BBC but is called on to make programmes as he has specialist knowledge about the subject. Just as a point of interest, when did you last see a BBC programme which showed Shooting Sports in a positive way? The BBC are as anti-shooting in their own stance. If you enjoy shooting you are under attack and it is more than a few bunny huggers you are up a against, this is a politically motivated campaign.

    just had a shock.

Would you like it if you couldn,t be with your son or daughter ever again because they have had their lives wrecked by drug addiction before finally dying of a drug overdose? These people are dealing in misery, deliberately creating future addicts which they can feed off like parasites. How many families have been destroyed by addicts who would steal anything just to feed their habit? I have great sympathy for the families of people who become hooked on hard drugs. I have less sympathy for the poor unfortunates who fall prey to drugs. I have no sympathy at all for the scum who smuggle and deal in drugs, They are ruthless, evil dross who carry out their vile trade for no other reason than to gain huge amounts of wealth. I agree with the sentiment that they should be hung.
  4. Succinctly put Sir. I won't bother to comment further.
  5. Some nice looking pistols there my friend. What make is the Luger? What markings does it have and do the numbers all match? My tongue is hanging out, you lucky dog!
  6. Nice to see that honesty and decency still exist!
  7. It looks as though you are going to have your work cut out looking after the little mite. Good luck mate, you are a credit to the shooting fraternity.
  8. I just want to say hi to my new buddies who I met for the fist time today, a really nice bunch of guys. I'm looking forward to this new year with renewed enthusiasm. I had arranged to send a St Bernard with a cask of brandy to rescue Paul but I see he made it home so Iv,e cancelled it. See you soon lads.
  9. Hi all, another one here from Benton Newcastle. I'm really enjoying the banter on this site, it's so addictive I can't switch it off! Amazed at how many shooters are on my doorstep. Good luck lads and straight shooting.
