  1. I'll nick the wife's laptop and post a pic in a moment.
  2. I bought this a few weeks ago without really checking the size, it's too short for my long monkey arms so it's up for sale. The size is 160/105. I believe this translates to 160cm tall and 105cm chest. I'd say it's a small to medium. Pic posted in thread below, price reduced to £30 posted
  3. I'd say 20" That was putting a tape under my armpit and measuring to where the cuff came to.

  5. Any advice on these? I've got a set of moulded in ear plugs but I thought I'd set a set of the muff type ones with the electronic protection for the winter and as a spare set. I don't really want to spend £100+ on Sordins etc so are the cheaper ones any good? If so which ones?
  6. Good vid, quite enjoyed that. Mind you those feral birds seemed very tame, so not like our wily woodies?! Did like those full bodied rotating decoys, anyone seen them in the uk?
  7. Where in Dorset are you? Honeycombe in Sherborne organises roost shooting in Feb for £10 a head?
  8. Like most others, I usually shoot 5-15 on a typical roost, but I do love Feb and the start of March, it's a great way to carry one after the game season finishes and usually shows some really testing birds. One day in Jan 2011 I was invited to a syndicate game shoot. The phes were very disappointing and as I had travelled a long way the keep asked if I wanted to stay on and have a short roost shoot.... I'm glad I did! Three of us stood in a small copse of holly and firs and shot over 100 between us in about an hour. I couldn't load fast enough! That was a red letter day for the game book and a memory to remember for ever! Adam
  9. Awesome!... As always, but it's been great to see how your videoing, shooting and editing skills have come on through the year. Really enjoy watching these, and this final one is great. Love the multiple camera angles. A few more Q's... how have you mounted the static camera? Do you simply film the whole drive and then edit it after or do you take a series of shorter clips to make it more manageable? Do you use the Bluetooth control on the hero 3 or simply turn on and off on the main unit? What size sd card are you using to capture all this? Adam
  10. Getting better with the Gopro, need to change from Wide angle I think also need to work out how to get it to fill the screen on YouTube? I uploaded in HD this time, so hopefully should be better? I also tried adding a little bedding music. This was shot on the 31st Jan in Devon. The keeper showed some truly stunning birds. Big fat, strong, late season pheasants flying hard on the brisk wind, driven off a steep hill... Many were too good for me! The last shot stunned me. I had never shot a side by side before and borrowed an old AYA for the last drive just for fun. The bird I shot was paced out at just over 70 yds! Simply the longest bird I've ever shot, and what a way to end the season. Hope you enjoy, all comments welcome. Adam
  11. Sorry! I only had limited footage to play with... I'll aim to build up a bit more before I post the next one. Glad you liked it though. It's the white edition but should take the same quality footage. To be honest I've not even looked at the settings, like a typical bloke I just took it out of the package and pressed record!
  12. Watching a lot of the great videos people have posted on here, got me wondering about the different styles of shooting lead with a shotgun. Most of my mates all shot swing through, so mount behind the bird, swing through, measure the lead and pull. However I notice a fair few of the videos filmed with gun or head mounted cameras show people shooting maintained lead. I know neither is wrong or better but having never even tried maintained lead I thought I'd see what the split is!
  13. Yes I've always shot pull through, as you said, just seems to work for me, mount behind the bird, pull through, measure the lead, pull the trigger and keep swinging... Well that's the concept anyway! Yes, Meg is young, she's just turned 1, so yes her first season shooting. Ive pushed her hard quite young, but she's soaked it up and done me proud!
  14. Im just sorting it... I can view it on my wifes PC... but not my Ipad. I'll change the permissons.
  15. Just a short vid of a few shoots the past weeks, still learning and getting to grips with the Gopro but really liking the way I can critic my shooting afterwards. Edited on IPad iMovie so not the best but hope you enjoy. Adam
  16. Dave, my fav poster! Love your write ups and pics! Sounds like a top few days out. Well done
  17. Was out shooting with my cocker yesterday. As usual she was flat out and some of it was pretty thick cover. Anyway she was fine last night, just tired. This morning she has one eye half closed and the other open but the second eyelid is half covered. There is a littl bit more eye gunk than usual. She is ok in herself. I've cleaned the eyes with salt water and cold tea. Any ideas what it could be? If she's any worse tomorrow I'll pop her to the vet, but just thought I'd ask on here in he meantime. Adam
  18. I've only got a selection of short clips at the moment but ill see if I can cobble them together later and post them up.
  19. Great vid. I'm still getting used to my gopro and find it a bit of a distraction between shooting and filming. One thing I have noticed is how you can critic your shooting and analyse the birds missed. From watching yours and Duffryn's vids, it would seem you both shot maintained leads as opposed to pull though? Look forward to the next one. Adam
