    brass eye fans

I've remember to wear my most absorbent pants to go and see that one. Do you remember the complaints they got about the Brass Eye Special he did about the media's coverage of paedophilia? Most of which came from people who hadn't seen it as they knew it would be "too disgusting to watch". I watched it with my mum and even she thought it was hilarious. Love it!!
  2. We use a shampoo that's just called "Animal Shampoo". If you google it, you'll find it for under £30 a gallon (smaller sizes are available). It's for horses, dogs, cows (I'll admit, I've no intention of shampooing a cow), etc... It's brilliant, gets rid of the smell of fox jobbies and for weeks after they'll smell of shampoo when they get wet. It also brings up their coat a treat. Hope this helps.

Sorry for repeating. Nickbeardo, you beat me to it.

    Word files

It looks like you are running a more recent version of Word that the recipient. All you need to do is "Save As" a word 2002 or earlier file. That will then give a .DOC formatted file. Either that or get the recipient to update their version of Word to the latest version
  5. Oops, should have been Mrs. Tank. And tonight is steak night!!
  6. You could try this: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...23&t=828061 Sorry, that's a bit nerdy, but it made me giggle.

    cod

If you make the batter with sparkling (carbonated) water or fizzy beer, it will come up really fluffy. I'm told champagne also works if you're feeling flush.
  8. I'm getting married in the summer, but the future one is well trained. She pops over, picks up the dirty washing then brings it back a couple of days later, all clean and ironed. And on Friday, she brings steaks! I do hope this isn't some cunning plan and it will all change after the wedding Maybe I should explain to the future Mr. Tank that I'm not marrying her for the laundry service.

    Scope advice

Does anyone have any opinions about illuminated reticles? Good, bad or indifferent?

    Scope advice

Hi Dekers, Yes, it's an S400 .177 Classic. I'll head over to Sheephouse and have a look at what they've got. Thanks very much for the advice, Tank

    Scope advice

Hello again. Now that I have sorted what gun fits me and I like to use, I need to sort out the scope. I realise that this can be far more important than the gun it's sitting on, however, budget stops me from spending 100s of pounds on some beautiful German glass. So, my question to my PW buddies is what should I be looking for in a scope. I'd like it to be usable for targets and for hunting and be useful in low light (dusk and dawn). The scope I've been using on a club gun seems very accurate, but in low light I simply can't see it unless it's right on top of a bright orange or yellow spinner or target. This means that going for something with >50mm objective is going to be best. Another part to the question is to do with reticles. I prefer the idea of a first focal plane reticle with Mil Dots as I can then get a much better gauge on range, but what is the general consensus? Are there any brands to really hunt out or avoid like the plague? Thanks in advance for the advice, I know it'll be good

    Good One Willie

I hope you're not a maths teacher :good:
  13. Got to agree with Wesman here. I recently got back from visiting my cousin in Malawi having been on safari in Zambia and the populations of Lion and Elephant are certainly strong in these regions. We were shown huge areas that used to be forest that are now just savannah with tree stumps due to the elephants. If someone wants to spend the money then great, it usually goes to the local people. The only problem comes when everyone goes for the HUGE bull elephants so effectively you end up with natural selection meaning the smallest are the most likely to survive (not get shot) so the population becomes small (in stature, not numbers). Most of the elephants in South Luanga National Park are munchkins (although I still got out of the way when they came through camp) because of this.
  14. You could use the example of land in the UK. The amount of it isn't changing, there's just loads more people that want it. Rise in demand so shortage of resources. Probably a bit late now though. Good luck!
  15. Great bloke to deal with. Thanks again!

  16. Now I'm going to end up denting a pellet and shooting it into a bucket of water, CSI style, to see what shape the skirt is after shooting it. Looks like I've opened a can of worms here, but it's all good stuff. I can see I have a lot to learn. And once I've got all the theory sorted, then all I need to do is learn to shoot straight.
  17. Thanks very much for the advice. If anybody wants me, I'll be in the kitchen, doing tiny washing up.
  18. Hi all, I'm pretty new to air gunning so this may seem a little basic. I've heard different opinions about lubricating pellets for PCP rifles. To me as a beginner it makes sense to oil them, but does anybody have any different opinions? Many thanks
  19. I've seen them in the mud a few times, very capable, but nowt compared to a mog. They are British though. Although that engine is the rover unit so technically a Buick

    Paint Sprayers

I was using cellulose paint on an A35. It came up OK in the end, but I wouldn't say it was the greatest job in the world. However, I totally admit that I'm not the greatest at this and it was about 15 years ago so technology has probably moved on a little too. Hope this helps.

    Paint Sprayers

Looks like a low pressure, high volume sprayer. I used one of these years ago to respray a car. Took ages and the spray wasn't really fine enough to give a smooth finsh. Plus I have no talent for spraying
  22. Trouble is, it's always the ramblers. I love going for a walk in the country, but I don't want to be associated with the ramblers association who think that the countryside is only for them. Nobody should be allowed to cycle, shoot, walk dogs, ride horses, drive 4x4s or have any other kind of hobby except the same one as they do. Grrrrr indeed!!

Like ramblers  but harder to hit!

    joggers

I wasn't built to jog. I just rumble along making lots of noise. But I choose to do most of my rumbling in the mud.
