  1. Well, I've been following this thread with interest. I've been down exactly the same road as Wildfowl. Too many knockbacks all gets a bit wearing after a while. It is extremely diffcult to find land to shoot in this part of the country. And very easy for those that live elsewhere to make such statements as "don't bother, my gardens bigger, not worth the steam off my p1$$" All really helpful....... So instead of putting the guy down, why not offer some useful advice? Say he gets the land for £50 a year. Yes, it may go against what people should be doing. IE, not paying, you are clearing his vermin after all! But, get the land. Then, it will look far better when he goes knocking for some more, to say "I already look after some land in such and such". This at least gives you some credibilty in front of strangers. Maybe even try the adjoining lands. I recently just got permission on some land, just by chatting to a mechanic friend, whose sister keeps horses. Long story short, 6 acres, get rid of the bunnies. She signed the permission slip to cover everything, just in case!! This post is not a dig at anyone, just trying to give some useful advice. Do what you think is right Wildfowl.
  2. Hope I don't get banned for this. Looks quite funny to me........... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaEbX5ARBuw
  3. Both mine were delivered this morning. Brand new in packets. Cheers Clive.
  4. Clive, the normal plastic lipped versions did cause some feeding 'challenges' when we used them for practical shooting at the ranges. This is only because they are being changed very quickly and not checking for alignment into main body. This is why we prefer the steel lipped versions. I'll take two whatever the 'lips'. Let me know where you are by pm and i'll either collect or get posted. Cheers Steve Clive, payment sent.
  5. Clive, are these the metal lipped versions? I may be interested in 2 or 3. Thanks Steve.
  6. Auto, very clever way of getting address. I'll keep that for future use. If I do manage to meet up - all I need is a refund and maybe some petrol 'allowance'!! I have escalated the claim through paypal and they seem to have given me an address in Surry to post the item back to. I tried a contact number earlier and the woman said " there's no one by that name at this address, but do you want to leave a message?" Mmmm, something fishy here methinks. And the best part of Paypal is that they state that I may get part or NONE of the funds returned.!! Oh well, of to the Maldives on Sunday for 10 days....................being old does have some advantages. Steve
  7. Super fast responses guys. I have filled in the user id request - lets see what happens. Thanks all, I'll let you know how it goes........ Steve
  8. 25k on a new boat that's sitting on the drive outside the window. May be used a part of the divorce settlement..... Steve.
  9. Hi all, just been completely ripped off on that fleabay site and would like to get 'in touch' with the seller. Story goes thus...kids want one of them new ipod 3rd generation nano's each for chrimbo. No probs, I know just the place. One turns up, completely genuine. Next, from this seller - dodgey as can be. Yes, I did check feedback - over 200 sales and not a problem. It seems they have just returned from a little shopping trip abroad with a bag of **** copies and proceeds to mail them all out at once. Hence now his feedback has dropped lower than a flatfish's belly button!! Oh, and this morning, "no longer registered with fleapit aution site". Paid for on Paypal and started a dispute file - 20 days for decision!!!! His tag is centralperk2903. His name is Robert Murdoch and Arundel, West Sussex was mentioned in his profile. If anyone has any dealings - could you forward an addy etc.? Also, is there a way of tracing a location from e-mail addresses? And just to finish my day - I'm 40 as well....... Cheers all, Steve.

  11. Tony, if you have any Conoflex or Zipplex Uptiders - I would be very interested. If you do - it must have been a very posh club Enzo.
  12. myuserid, the solid slugs are FAC only. I'm only allowed to hold 150 of these at any one time....!!! The largest 'shot' cartridges I can purchase locally are gamebore Buffalo S.G. These hold 9 (yes, I've counted them as the cases are clear) pieces of 8.4mm lead shot. Powered by 32grms of powder. Allowable on SGC. Haven't yet tried 'proofed' glass or plastic with the solid slugs, but the SG's do tend to shred at close range. If you want some piccies of shells posted, just shout. Enzo
  13. That's where me and wifey are going in December - Liveaboard diving. Have fun sir. Enzo
  14. Caeser, as far as I am aware, the gun does not need to any particular 'section' . I use these for practical shotgun courses - card targets, not steel plate!! These are 'directed' through a Beretta 3-shot S/Auto. the choke is kept 'wide' because the distances are not great, compared to hunting/clays. Just need to justify the purchase of a higher capacity Benelli to her indoors..... Enzo
  15. 1. Used to live in a pub, hence plenty of glass bottles around. Running along and carrying a bottle, trip , smash and nearly severed all the tendons in my wrist. 2. Tripped over again, this time with a pea shooter tube in my gob. Hit the deck and the tube was embedded in the roof of my mouth. 3. Sitting down sharpening some wood, stanley knife slipped and ran straight across the top of my right leg - caterpillar shape scar. 4. Used to keep ferrets - had 16 at one time. One was running around inside my jumper and decided to lock onto my chin. Ran around looking like Abe Lincoln!! 5. Human dart board for my older brother. Stopped when one stayed in my arm. Not through choice mind. 6. Had one of those handwarmers that burnt the charcoal sticks inside the 'wallet' affair. Opened it whilst sitting, orange charcoal goes through trousers and proceeds to rest, just to the left of percy. Now that did make me yelp. Two near drowning experiences, luckily rescued both times. Once in Hawaii, one in Blighty. Various Bike and Car 'experiences'. Christ, I sound like Mr. Bean............ Enzo

STOP PRESS..................... Taken from the local paper. "There has been a spate of animal thefts around the Brighton and Hove areas. Ferrrets seem to be the targeted animals along with guinea pigs and rabbits. Police are asking people to be on the lookout for anyone resembling the Village People to contact them." Well, that's half the population guilty then.... Enzo
  17. Disc cleanup and defrag every 2 weeks. Only to cut down on 'junk' being filed on the laptop. That's the trouble with porn sites............... Enzo

Well one and all, it's time to say goodbye. I would like to thank all the people that have given me some great advice and help on this forum over the past year(ish). I have learnt a great deal about respect for the countryside and the people that work with it. Thanks to all who let me shoot on their permissions, and up yours to those who said "I'll give you a call soon". I have sold nearly all my guns, but still have the HW100 and beretta semi auto. Reason for this departure? Complete lifestyle changes including selling motorcycles, dive kit including the rebreather etc... Cheers all, it's been a blast. Enzo aka steve. PS. could one of the moderators please delete my access. TA PPS. How about this for irony - The FAC is due in a couple of weeks....HA!!
