  1. Please email mry716@hotmail.com One pair of unlined NEW Camo trousers in NATO camo pattern 38†waist £10 + P&P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...le/Trousers.jpg One New and unworn 'Functional' of Warrington Olive green shooting jacket. Thermal lined (removable for washing) and double weatherproofing on shoulders. This is a standard length jacket with internal zip pocket and rear velco fixed 'game' 1/2 pocket. There are also two external patch pockets and one breast pocket. Suitable for a chest size 40. Brand new and unworn (tried only - it is too small for me) it has hung in my wardrobe for the last few years. Somehow whilst hanging in the wardrobe it does seem to have aquired a small mark on one sleeve which I am sure will wipe off. Cost in 2003 when my wife bought it as a surprise present was £78 at the Gamefair so it is a bargain for only £25 + P&P at cost http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...or%20Sale/5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...or%20Sale/6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...or%20Sale/8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...or%20Sale/4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...or%20Sale/3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...%20Sale/2-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...%20Sale/1-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...20Sale/Mark.jpg One French Military camo pattern lightweight (unlined) jacket as purchased from the ‘Surplus’ store. Some signs of wear and a couple of marks but certainly good enough for summer shooting. £5 + P&P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry.../Camojacket.jpg One nylon belt with plastic snap buckle and velco length adjustment in a width suitable for military sized belt loops £5 + P&P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry...20Sale/belt.jpg Please email mry716@hotmail.com
  2. I agree................so measure the bore 9" from the breech, then measure your chokes and as a starter use the ones that are nearest to 10 and 20 thou difference respectively. Any 'good' gunshop will do that for you FOC so just ask at your local. To throw another spanner into the works please do understand that a choke does not necessarily alter the pattern only the tightness of the pattern. Usually the pattern is set by the cone (the restriction to bore size after the chamber) and in a quality English gun (unchromed) may be changed by a skilled barrel man to improve the pattern irrespective of the choke. That being said, removable chokes can vary so if possible try others on a pattern sheet to see the differences. I.e. a 1/2 choke may (and I say may) throw a poor pattern equivalent to a 1/4 choke and vice versa so trial and error is the key to best results for your needs. Since large sheets of paper are difficult to come by use a fertilizer sack cut open double on a 2"x1" frame
  3. What you have got to remember is that perhaps a full choke in one barrel is only half in another. Choke is the constriction at the muzzle compared to the bore behind it. If a full choke tube is measured as .689" that will give 40 thou of constriction ie full choke in a barrel bored 729 (standard 12 bore size) but only 20 thou (1/2 choke in a barrel bored 709 (Min 12 bore size or 13 bore) but 50 thou in a barrel showing a size of .739" and 60 thou in a barrel with an internal diameter of .749" (Max 12 bore size or 11 bore). Looking minimum size to maximum means theoretically you could have a full choke tube in one barrel showing cylinder in another. In practice,of course, the variation in size is very limited but it really is something that needs considering. You need to know the internal diameter of the barrel and of the choke tube to find the difference in size and so the amount of constriction and therefore your choke rating. Also remember some take 35 thou as full choke not 40 thou http://doublegunshop.com/choke.htm Imperial 12 bore sizes are:- .710"-.718" .719"-.728" .729"-.739" .740"-.749" Providing 10 thousanths of an inch between proof sizes. Whilst Metric 12 bore sizes are:- 18.1mm-18.9mm although the Proof House will reproof a 12 bore up to 19.1mm if there is sufficient barrel wall thickness. The proof is allowed between any two points ie 18.3-18.5mm So even with metrification, that is now used by UK proof, the size of a 12 bore can still vary by the size of a Full Choke tube. (40 thou)

If I can find 2 or 3 buyers to take pieces totalling 100yds that is ok but I much prefer to sell the lot for £85 in one piece Please email me at mry716@hotmail.com

  12. WSSM cartridges are excellent as are the WSM range. I say that with authority having tried them ALL by buying rifles in each cal, using them in the field and hand loading accordingly - both WSSM and WSM. BUT the 243 WSSM is not really any benefit over the excellent 243 for most folk and considering the costs involved and the restricted maker list available I would suggest you stick to the standard cartridge if it is a 243 you want. However if you should consider the 25 then do seriously look at the 25WSSM as it is a better cartridge then the 25-06 if only because of the diminutive length and short bolt throw. I am also finding my 25WSSM Win Featherweight is outperforming my Rem700 Mountain 25-06 at all ranges and it proved particularly satisfactory at 3-600yds in the spring of last year BUT my advice would be to stick to buying a Winchester rather than a Browning for best WSSM magazine to chamber feeding and you will not go wrong. If you can afford a better rifle than the mass produced ones fine - they will all function perfectly. If you are anywhere in the E MIDS you are welcome to come and have a few shots with my 25 and see for yourself. You can even have a play with the 325WSM ! Any questions email me at mry716@hotmail.com
  13. Ask for whatever else you want and Pest Control NOT Vermin. In law rabbits are Ground Game and fox are Small Mammals but all can be pests as can pheasant, hare etc etc You will now be granted Pest Control nationwide - so ask for it. Re 243 /223 I would suggest the most approriate (best) rifle for fox is a 243 and since the Police themselves came to the same conclusion after testing at their NI Forensic Lab they cannot refuse a 243 for fox alone. If you want a copy of their report email me on mry716@hotmail.com

  16. Paint strippers are a No NO on Walnut as the wood soaks up the chemical and can then prove difficult for refinishing. Just use a Stanley blade between finger and thumb then go to 280,360,500,800 wet and dry paper NOT sandpaper as the grit fall off in uyse and scratches more than the paper smooths. Total time for stock and f/end to 600 grit about 4 hours even if there are gouges on the stock as the blade scrapes them out easily. I have now done well in excess of 1000 so have tried most methods over the years !

    Shotgun O/U.

Now here is an offer for you. I have a 12b Baikal D/T Ejector in extremely nice condition (like new) with a stock that has one of its sides broken off – glued back on for a pattern but not safe to use. I have a very nicely figured part machined blank to use for it. A professional stocker would probably take 8 hours to get it to the stage of putting on the finish. I would probably take twice as long so you as a first timer must be prepared to take 4-5 times as long. You can have the gun and wood for £125 and if you make a mess of it you can buy a s/h stock for about £40 and refinish it and still have a very nice O/U for £165 Pictures - mry716@hotmail.com

  19. NOW SOLD Steyr Ultralight (£1170 retail) with wood upgrade (cost £200) in 308. just over 7 lbs with full mag and scope (not included in sale) ready to shoot. Fired less than 100 rds so it really is absolutely as new £850 ovno. It comes in a Plastic carry case with all original documentation. This was bought for the hill. I wanted a real lightweight rifle and expected to see it used 2 or three times a year in Scotland but age and infirmity takes its toll and I doubt I could even carry that weight for far now over those steep and rocky landscapes north of the border. It is threaded (and reproofed) and presently has a muzzle brake fitted that reduces the felt recoil by at least 45%. To remove - loosen grub screw and unscrew. The brake is my own adaptation based on the PH design of the late '80's and has just been painted presently - I can arrange powder coating before sale if so wished. The Ultralight has a single set trigger and both pull weights can be adjusted and set independently. Push forward for set position. New trigger springs are fitted but the originals are included. Anyone seriously interested can come for a days Fallow stalking to try it out before spending their money. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...6/Steyr6-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...teyrweight.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...716/Steyr7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...6/Steyr5-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...Steyrbrake.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...716/Steyr3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...716/Steyr5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ightweight.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/mry716/1-1.jpg Email mry716@hotmail for additional pictures and more information
  20. Baikal 12b Baikal D/T Ejector O/U in extremely nice condition (almost like new) with a stock that has one of its sides broken off – glued back on for a pattern but not safe to use. I would probably take twice as long so if you are a first timer you must be prepared to take 4-5 times as long. I will sell the gun and wood for £100 - if you make a mess of it you can still buy a s/h stock for about £40, refinish it and still have a very nice O/U for £140 Emai me for pictures mry716@hotmail.com
  21. Wheels and Tyres 4 as new Isuzu Trooper steel wheels and caps (take offs from new Trooper) fitted with Colway 245x70x16 Off Road Tyres. These wheels and tyres have covered less than 100 miles as I bought another vehicle for shooting and refitted the original Alloys and Road Tyres. £200 no offers Could meet/deliver to Anstey in Leicestershire tomorrow (Tues 9th) after lunch. mry716@hotmail.com
  22. I am adding this addendum because some people feel the rifle is being advertised with scope. Please note the mention of the scope was simply to offer a guide to the lightness of an all up weight. The scope shown on the rifle is a Diavari 5-15x42 Zeiss (the lightest quality scope made at that magnification) and although I hadn't intended to sell it I would do so for £650 with the rifle only. The scope has seen the same use as the rifle.
  23. Anyone interested in re-barrelling a Rem 700 (on the cheap but legally) please do drop me a line at mry716@hotmail.com as I may just be able to offer all the help and advice components and tooling you need. I am sure you will understand if you read the following post http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=59610 that I really would appreciate only those with a serious interest actually writing to me.
  24. Mr Gray has one and the other is now also sold.
