A freind of mine bought 10,000 of them for his clay shoot, and he's having the same problem. A horrible waxy stuff forms a few inches from the end of the chamber. He reckoned solvents wouldn't touch it but firing a few boxes of plas wad's got rid of it. Rob

I borrowed a Bowman junior and put 4 boxes of clays through it, no problems, it threw single standards a good distance and was easily operable by no-tails. I think they go for £120? Rob

Squeal like a mama pig!

Not sure about AG pellets but I read somewhere that in tests, zinc shotgun pellets proved more toxic than lead. Rob

Is the ground hard to find? I was shooting near there on saturday and could hear the shots but never saw a sign. Rob

I'm free on the 12th also. Rob

They take some killing I'll grant you that. The worst place for flatflies in a game larder after a grouse day. West Nile Virus is likely to be the next big bad thing, I thought it was mozzies that spread it from birds to humans? There was a case recently of a guy who topped himself after developing severe depression after contracting Lyme's. Not nice at all. Rob

I've never shot basil with SG's but I got a box ages ago and had some fun shooting at a thick wooden headboard on a old trailer and a couple of squirrel dreys. I use Alphamax 3's for sheep or a Frost's clipper knife. SG's are supposed to be good for Wild Boar or other large stuff out to 35 yards. Rob

Excellent. There was a warning on NOBS about antis posing as legit beaters and getting RV points and times and then turning up and sabbing. I'm thinking of posting a rogue RV in the middle of the impact area on the Army ranges, 10 minutes before firing starts, some 155's and mortars would soon fettle them! Rob

Sundays are best for me, is the plan to go to Steve Smith's? Rob

3 now, I'm always up for batting a few clays. Rob

I had a E. Rizzini 20b side-plate. It shot very well but the second trigger pull was only 1/4 lb (adjusted up to 4lb by gunsmith) and the trigger stood proud of the guard at the side. I got rid of it when it started the habit of firing both barrels at the same time. Rob

Nice to see another GWP out and about. Here's our two and one of our pointers. Rob

Le Chameau's every time. Tried cheapies, hunters, aigles and argylls. None are a patch on the camels. Having said that I normally prefer proper boots, Meindl Douvre Extreme's with goretex gaiters. Rob

Tootling around we get 31 mpg :yp: out of our L200 Trojan diesel, if its going off-road or motorway blasting it drops to 26mpg or less . The motoring mags are really rating the Trojan as a bargain buy at the moment, brand new they are going for around £13,000, just because the new shape L200 is out. Plenty of room for the dogs in the back as well! Cheers, Rob
