  1. Thanks. Spent an hour or so last night judging distances upto 30 yards. Found that the cap down does make a massive difference to the zero and guess is just a rough guideline with perfection achieved at night. I tried the torch in a box but wasn't as effective as the niknaks.
  2. For those unsure how to zero NV at night, I used the inside of a crisp packed glued on White paper with a concrete backstop! Worked wonders
  3. Thanks. .22, mostly rabbits open land, golf courses and hotel grounds! Came up with another croper!! Spent about an hour last night zeroing (30mtrs about 1 inch group) only to try this morning with the cap down (daily light zero) and it was completely off... Is this right/common? Or has it moved?
  4. Try posting advert at local club always comes up trumps...
  5. I think again that common sense prevails. If your likely to get spotted every time you are out. Then it's worth a 2 min call and log. If for some bonkers reason all hell broke loose and the rossers turned up all guns blasing, copters and the works then ask yourself: is your permission going to be jepodised? All for; and I agree you shouldn't, a quick phone call!!! If however your permission is 20 miles from the nearest sight of civilisation then it's highly unlikely and I wouldn't bother. I lamp in the winter at a permission that can be seen from passing trains. You'll be amazed at how many people report strange lights in the middle of fields... Happy hunting
  6. Hi all Need some help, having never drilled stock before, I want to make sure I minimise the risk of splitting the wood! All advice and help warmly welcomed! Also stock could do with a bit of a refresh, varnish??
  7. That's hell of a big one Ryan...
  8. Hi All Having taken the jump to the "green side" from lamp to Ir, after some recommendations on zeroing and anything else you think may help. As always any advice you can give here will benefit not only me but all others.. Happy hunting Hw100k Gen 1 nrvs with additional bits Harris bipod
  9. Thanks but just picked up Yukon gen 1 with extra ir..
  10. I don't know about you guys but I rarely find any night the same. With the recent warmer weather they seem to be out all day and putting their little lucky feet up and not streching out to much at night. As all said above- mix it up and be flexible with your lamp..green/red/Amber...bright and soft..
  11. Hi All In a quandary so thought i would put it to the floor and see what useful tips come back. After a great few weeks lamping with deben atom and custom off road mountain bike lamp (very very bright) mounted on my bipod leg. i met up with a couple of guys using NV, after seeing the ease of use I think it's time for the investment. The problem is, what and how much...have been looking around and i think a second hand gen 2 is within the budget or new gen1!!! It will be used weekly for ranges upto 50yds open and woodland. Rabbits mostly. Mounted on HW100k... Any help, tips or offers will be greatly welcomed. All the best and happy hunting.. B

  14. Why would you wanted a loaded mag in a public place anyway??? Better safe than sorry with regards the law! Keep your mags in the bag unloaded.
  15. Agreed at no filling above 180. For me bottle everytime. If you are looking for a cheaper option, talk to your local dive centre and see if they have any cheapies. Remember older pumps have has problems with mosture...
  16. What about HW100's. I have owned my Mk1 for a long time with faultless accuracy and awesome loading system.
  17. Not being funny, but it's all relative based on how much you want to go and if you are willing to pay for it. If your going to make good use to the game, then siting down with a nice glass of red and a fresh game pie, after a shoot the night before is worth it in my eyes...
  18. Feel free to pm us if there is enough to go around as not far away.. Regrds
  19. Hi All, Looking for venue/friendly farmers to allow two very experienced riflemen rabbit, fox and pidgeon controlled shooting. We both have a mass of experience working within areas with livestock and which are populated. Happy to split if required. References are available on request. Areas ideally Chichester to sompting and north as storrington. Lamping would-be bonus if allowed Other members feel free to ping me if you need another to accompany you or have any contacts. We are currently restricted to shoot on farmland Brighton way and looking for a closer opportunity Look forward to hearing from you all Happy shooting Ben
