  1. ! Im not particularly a great standard, only manage an average of 19 of so on the skeet so ill be chuffed if i hit half
  2. Hahaha ive heard it to be 'soul destroying', the highest tower i have shot is the one at cocketts farm. Im told thats nothing compared to the one at Style Hollow. Are the targets from the tower driven or going away?
  3. Hi all, first time shooting Style Hollow tomorrow on the sporting lay out. Has anyone been before? What do they reckon to it?
  4. to really throw a spanner in the works....what about the .20 calibre...or would that make me a troll ?
  5. i too was like that at school....when will i ever need this? gcse's and a-levels later...got scholared and paid to carry out a degree......and all i seem to do is maths, and i love it now
  6. Hi mate. Im currently at work. Ill be back around 8, ill put the exact measurements of the cabinet up then For a rough idea. Ive comfortably held 1 semi in there, 1 pump, 1 o/u and a .410. I also forgot to mention that the cabinet comes with a foam type rack.
  7. As title. Can hold 3-4 taken down shotguns. Police approved, 2 locks with 2 keys for each. Has 4.no holes in the back of the cabinet and 2.no holes in the base for fixing. The colour is black. Has no marks on it what so ever, condition is as new. Reason for selling is that i now have a bigger cabinet for FAC scoped rifles. The cabinet is currently still fixed so no pictures as of yet but im due to fetch my new cabinet this weekend (20-21st Feb) but i can assure you this cabinet is spotless looking for £50.00 Im near Alfreton/ Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Can deliver for fee.
  8. after studying such modules as 'sustainable technology' and 'environmental science' for the last 4 years at Uni whilst studying a surveying degree. I can honestly say i cannot give a hoot about global warming, this may seem a short sighted unintelligent comment but i can assure i am neither of those. A few ice caps melt, a few polar bears die, so what?....my main concern is the ever increasing cost of car tax and petrol thanks to the people who have bought this idea of global warming will supposedly end the world. No one really spoke of this 50 years did they? But lets not digress. The prius is a ugly mite, whether its electric or not doesnt even come into it! Ahh......that feels better now.
  9. Puhleaaaaaaaase........to digress, has anybody noticed its now Friday? Whos off on the lash tonight?
  10. thanks for the fast replies gents. I have to take my gun apart everytime i want to put it away as i only have a take down cabinet. I think that this could have loosened the crimp, it certainly seems looser than when i first bought it. Ive just called the gun shop and they can tighten it up no problem apparently so ill get that sorted at the weekend. The gun in question is a winchester 1100, a really old pump gun, my rough gun really
  11. as title, what would you do if it come loose and you could fit more than 2.no carts in a mag? Obviously you wouldnt carry on, would the police see it as a section1 ?! this is purely a 'what if' question
  12. hahah i get that all the time......I just thought, im 22 and wanted a decent RWD convertible sportscar before i got into the boring company car rutt with work
  13. Although some people are saying its not the best shooting wagon.....its got to be better for shooting than mine http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1045...mp;id=814290363 2.0ltr RWD, bit of snow, stuck at the side of the road for 3 nights.....my mate had to come rescue me in his Trooper
  14. Hi, Looking to purchase the small retro fit hushpower silencer for my baikal .410. Just one small point, do the barrels need to be re-proofed as you would a FAC rifle when 'altering' the barrel? Does anybody have one? Whats the change in sound like, a lot lot quieter, or just a little quieter? Whats it like shoot? Hope this all makes sense.
  15. Well happy with it, owned the sgc for about 18 months now and never thought id shoot one!
  16. search is my friend! just found this helpful thread from 13 months ago. We have had about 2-3 inch up in derbyshire so im off to give it a go!
  17. How do you dispatch them....wrestle with them then "neck" them? May sound a little strange but certainly sporting for the bird....could you let the birds go then have a crack with the SG?
  18. 7-8 James and Oz's adventure 8-9 Top Gear 9-10 James May on Space.... Was anybody else sick of seeing James May last night?
  19. discrimination it is. I thought that the term for dicrimination was the unequal treating of parties in relation to another party of the same stature (or something along those lines) sounds like discrimination. For people who say dont persue it, it could affect you in the long run. If you were to be affected...this would be victimisation through discrimination. I did a 10,000 paper on it earlier this year and managed 85% but my mind is now completely blank!!
  20. Thanks for the feedback. You right, the report is a lengthy doc at nearly 200 pages........luckily i didnt use my own printer Ive phoned the FAO who confirmed that he was waiting for the references. Ive asked him to bin it and ill hand deliver a revised copy on Monday. Reed
  21. Afternoon not long back i did apply for my FAC.........after having heard nothing i assumed that the application had failed. Before everyone starts laughing (because this does sound stupid) i didnt include no references or how much ammo i wanted to store. i just put "on request" and "as police recommendation". Lond story short, i was going to present the references to the FAO on his visit. The point of all this was because i just wanted to have a chat with the FAO. To let him point me in the right direction with the application, afterall i thought FAO's were there to help etc etc. The land i shoot on is cleared for .22lr but not .17hmr. I want to apply for both these calibers. Because the land is not cleared for .17hmr (never been inspected for it, just a .22lr application) would i be turned down on the .17hmr or would the FAO make a seperate visit? Also. What ammo should i put down to hold and buy? I hear someone said to remember expanding ammo? I also hear i have to mention mods? May seem a silly question, but when you have a "slot" for a .22lr does this mean you can only have one? or is like a shotgun cert where you can have as many as your cabinet can hold? I also hear that the FAO quizes you on balistics within the visit. I know basic balistics, safety, back drops etc but can anybody offer me any advice or web links on which i can read up on this? Im ideally after a bolt action in both calibres as i hear they are more accurate and "robust" than the s/a's? sorry for the load of questions, i just really want educating on fire arms so i can fill in my application properly and hopefully own firearms in the future At the moment i have a breakdown cabinet for my shotguns, i will be looking to swap this. Someone did PM me wanting to swap a rifle cabinet for it with cash......but i have lost the PM. Please speak up if you read this as i am very interested
