May have been, didn't look at the car much, think it was silver and some kind of 4x4 estate type, driver was male, fifties and I believe wearing a hat? It was about lunch time or just before, me and my lad are big blokes (I'm 6'02" my little lad is 6'07") and I poined at the stickers as we crossed behind it and said to my lad "another shooting man" at that point traffic started to roll and car moved away

I live in a village south of pontefract so don't know the college in castleford. 1975 year before I was born!
  6. Say it again. Unity in all campaigns, more co-operation or even amalgamation of organisations. And move the front line back again by fighting for hunting,

One more now I live here.......
  8. My assertion they are using the same tactics can be highlighted by the media coverage regards licensing fee's, showing game shoots (expensive shooting) and saying we are subsidising shooters.......
  9. It was a slippery slope ...... A lot of shooters didn't stand alongside hunters when they banned hunting with dogs, my opinion has always been they divide and conquer, pick off one at a time......that was the first and we are now sliding towards a ban on everything worth doing (fishing included) We should start fighting against the hunting act more vigorously, all organisations and groups even if not a "hunting" group, move the front line away from shooting, maybe even win back hunting. They are using the same tactics they used with hunting, making out like its a hobby of the rich and priveledged, so that most people don't care....... This is wrong both inaccurate and morally to attack in this fashion. Shooting and hunting are all inclusive, different types but practised by all. Airguns in scotland now, fac's next then sgc's.....

I have recently relocated back to lovely yorkshire. Today me and my family went to castleford. Me and my son popped into the little gun shop there to ask the price of some cartridges. As we crossed the road in front of it through the slowly moving traffic, my eyes were drawn to a car we moved behind. Basc and other shooting organisation stickers along with a "pigeon watch member" sticker. I was unable to chat to the driver as it was moving traffic we were crossing through. Was it you in Cas today?
  11. Is that proportionate representation........ It would be a way forward
  12. Kw I think we would get on...... Oh and being of french descent I love the avatar you use.
  13. So my figures may not be hundred percent accurate, but in the words of homer (simpson) "you can make statistics say anything you want, 89% of people know that" So percentages and actual figures are always open to debate. But its a valid point, until last year I was a police officer, I saw a massive increase in certain crimes due to eu immigration. (For some reasons certain cultures seem to commit certain crimes) Since relocating and working in the private sector I have seen it first hand, unskilled and unneeded labourers are vastly out numbering any skilled trades we need. You can't blame the people, they are making use of the system. Its the system (government) that needs to change. Minimum wage needs change (ukip want to raise the taxable allowance) We need to force/encourage people back to work, we do need a stick and carrot approach, stick is benefits aren't (or shouldn't be) forever......carrot is we should reward those who work (ukip raising taxable allowance would solve that, tax credits shouldn't exist its just recycling the tax payments, raising tax allowance is better) so people see an actual financial reward for working. I have a nephew who is a doctor, he is newly qualified and looking at canada to relocate, we shouldn't be losing him, a lot of his reasons for wanting out are political and attributable to the tories and labour.
  14. I agree with KW. Removing the defence of the falklands had the direct result in it being invaded. Save a few pennies which ended costing millions and loss of life. Would you vote for someone who would disband the police? Its the same thing, remove any defernece/deterent and expect criminal acts.......
  15. Is there any irony in your username dodgy dave? I have found folk who nick stuff try and sell it at market value...... How would anyone know it was stolen?
  16. I was trying to be sarcastic, I fear that may have been lost in the typed format. Having been homeless for a few months at the end of last year and looking around many houses to buy (we were in a rush to get a new house for various reasons) before we bought our current house (on the main road into and out of our village) I realised my only concern in buying a house was, driving my lady wife to and from a viewing and steering her towards on that would accomodate my ferret hutch and gun cabinet (the two things that are mine alone)
  17. How so? Raising the taxable allowance higher than any other party so taking low earners out of tax altogether? Would make me 3-5 grand richer a year if I worked the figures out
  18. People working, not in a managerial or supervisory role. I.e. Me. They are suffering as 99% of the eu migrants are unskilled labourers, making unhealthy competition for work and forcing wages down....... Where work the poles are paid less than the locals..... Result the company try and recruit from poland before here and recently got into some kind of trouble for doing so, even when there are people here willing to work and looking for work....... Sorry should read "where I work"
  19. Why post this on here, if your wife has set her mind on it, what's the point of arguing........ Wives make the decisions all husbands know that. I have lived in various places, near train lines, above a tube line, near busy roads, you do block it out after a while.......it just becomes background noise. I doubt you could afford all you (she) wants without the proximity to the road
  20. Hindsight is wonderful, but she didn't show any foresight on the falklands, a disputed territory closer geographically to the other party, it always needs a military presence. All the criticism of all politicans could be negated with the same argument that you used there, "oh hindsights wonderful" we employ and pay the politicans to make informed choices and decisions on our behalf...... If they make a bad one or one that doesn't work out, its why they get voted out........ We need more forward thinking, I actually think more politicans should play chess and learn to see consequences for their decisions before they happen..... Or at least consider worst case scenarios...
  21. Most of the points have been covered. I have 3 shotguns, an over and under my wife paid for which is my main gun, she paid market price at a gunshop A single barrel which is my vermin gun, its nice and light to carry and has a 3 inch chamber, its probable worth 50_100 quid, I paid a tenner, the bloke was giving up due to arthritic hands and wanted rid before his sgc expired, I feel I could sell that for more as I paid a fair price and didn't take it under any promise......I.e. I am skint and don't have a gun, or my kid taking up shooting and need a second gun My third gun is a really nice victor sarasqueta s x s ejector, a mate had my guns whilst I was without a certificate......he gave me this as he didn't use it and said I would get more use out of it........I can't sell this as it was gifted to me by a mate, its probably worth more than my other two and used the least but its the principle, I feel I must use/keep it for several years before I could even consider passing it on and then I feel I should probably gift it to someone or sell it cheap to help someone out......... Reading the replies here, it will have to be another mate as I would get annoyed if sold on for profit. That's a completely different scenario to someone selling something cheap cos they don't realise the true value
  22. No the point was she cut defences of falklands, which gave the argies opportunity to invade, and forced us into a war.

    Mole traps

    Where about are you?
  24. There is a massive lie (started by tories) that voting ukip will allow labour in.......... Ukip doesn't just steal tory votes, I am pretty sure they are stealing more labour votes than thought, as its the working classes suffering most due to the eu
  25. Well said Mention was made of all the brits in spain. My understanding from people I know, you have to pay for everything privately except policing. (Health service) And that loads of them are now trying to sell up and come home! Those people in my opinion did as rats do......abandon a sinking ship. Also when we discussed a points system for immigration, usa, new zealand and australia.......if you have enough money to support yourself you are welcome (I.e. Rich) now pensioners aren't rich, but are usually mortgage free so have cash for a home, and a monthly pension (those who have paid into a private one) which meets all of their needs, as such they are low or no cost immigrants
