  1. amazing shot going back a few weeks ago my freind shot a fox at 180 190 yrds posted a pic and a few people on here was not beliving that the round was capable at that distance nice to see some video evidence even know its alot smaller than a fox just shows the rounds accuracy well down and great shooting
  2. hi to answer some questions first of all it was paced out and was a guestimate of the yrds but the gun was 0 at 145yrds giving you a + 1.5" at 90 yrds and a -1.5 at 165yrds this means nothing to me i just asked my freind who has told me to write this he said he gave it around a -2.5" he also said does anyone know what the ft. lbs is on 17hmr at 200yrds he belived it to be in the region of 70 to 75 ft. lbs he also said they tried to get this fox a couple of times but was lamp shy hence why he zeroed his 17hmr at 145yrds knowing it was going to be a shot at great distance he doesnt like to take shots on at this distance but knew the fox needed to be killed he also said it might of been a lucky shot but considering he was aiming for the heart shot then it was in his eyes a good shot doesnt mean anything to me but thats what he said
  3. poontang it does look similar to yours but look at the size of spread on yours to mine and that spread on your bird is alot wider at 3 yrds
  4. it wasnt very deep there was shot in there the only thing i thought it could be a bad cartridge it was a hb pigeon because i checked the cartridge after i shot and it was only one barrel 2 didnt go off i have always used these cartridges and this has never happened before
  5. i think if you shot a pigeon 2 to 3 times at 3yrds there would be nothing left do you not under stand the power of a shotgun at a range of 3yrds obviously not i think the first reply could be right that the lead was clumping or didnt spread as it should thanks just thought that it might of happened to other members of the forum
  6. hi this was a shot taken well decoying over peas the pigeon was around 30yrds it was shot with a yildiz 28inch barrel and the barrel was 1/2 choke the cartridge was a eley hb pigeon 32gr with 6.5 shot the same as i always use dont know what happened to explain this happening have you lads or lasses got any ideas what caused it
  7. hi quite new on here but this was a vixen taken around 180-190 yrds with a 17hmr it was a heart shot what dropped her instantly she was quite lamp shy but needed to be killed as she was treating the chickens as a fast food bar it wasnt me who took the shot but was a freind
