Havnt had much time last few of weeks, but managed to get two quick practice lines in t'other day. 1 of DTL hit a 24/72. Hit everything first barrel then missed the penultimate bird off stand 5! It was straight too!! DOH!!! Just had time for a quick round of ABT and managed a 23ex25. The next evening I got a call from the chaps I pratice with to go and have a couple of rounds of OT at Griffin Lloyd (only 20 mins from me). Its always a bit demoralising shooting with these guys as two are currently in the welsh OT squad, and two are ex welsh team, but to be fair they never gloat, and are always very helpfull. With an ok performance the day before I was hoping to equal or beat my personal best of 21 on the OT layout. Unfortutately I shot the worst I have for ages, two 14's!!! Absolutely gutted! Decided against any more rounds to avoid any further upset! They all shot 22's 23's and 24's! In all fairness Ive only been shooting clays since jan 2007, so I keep telling them one day I will nail them!!

I voted DT10. I like Perazzi, but some people I have met who have them seem to think everything else is ****E. Dont want to become one of the snobby elite!! I have always fancied a K80, nearly bought an old Krieghoff 32 a while ago beacuae it was cheap, but its condition reflected this. I dont think the K80 would suit me, I need a really light fast handling trap gun of OT. Have not had the pleasure of shooting the F3, but mounted one several times and waved it around. Very nice guns, my local gunshop had an ex demo one for ages, I kept saying when I had the money I would buy it. A year later when I did have the Dosh, he had sold it a friend of mine a couple of weeks before!! Bought a rather lovely looking DT10 instead. F3 would be my 2nd choice If i ever tire of my DT10. As for the Brownings, I have had two, an Ultra XTR (wasnt keen, was so slow I was sweating after a round of OT just trying to get the thing moving!) and a cynergy black ice.... Im still regretting getting rid of this, lovely gun, crisp trigger pulls. From a young age everyone shooting around me had brownings, I so wanted to like them when I got my hands on the XTR, but Im afraid it just didnt suit me. Where is the option to fly to italy, purchase a DT10L then have a stock made to measure??!

Dont panic mate, can take quite a while to get used to a new gun, even when it fits well. I couldnt make head nor tale of the DT10, then all of a sudden straighted a round of DTL and havnt looked back since. A few good trap guys I know say it can take up to a year to really get used to a different gun, this maybe a slight exageration, but it can take time. Obviously it depends on how often you go shooting. Lots of dry mounting (oooh eerrr!!) at home in the evenings helps no end. It will all come together all of sudden

Popped down to South Wales 2000 ground this afternoon to try and get to grips with the new trap gun. Gorgeous day, and very quiet, everyone was at the ABT in Llandegla. Ideal for practicing. Started on the DTL just to get my eye in with it, shot a dissapointing 21. Missed first two on stand 1, then 2 more or stand 2 then hit the rest. Had a bit of a think about it, wasnt trying hard enough, being lazy and not swinging through, so shot another round.... 25 straight with two second barrels... getting better. OT layout was busy, and didnt have time to wait for it to clear so had a round of ABT before I came home and shot a 22. Chuffed with that, only shot ABT 3 times before. liking the DT10 so far.

Not strictly a quad, and Im sure Ive posted the pic before somewhere... My argo 6x6. Fitted a Tbar lightforce 170, passenger gun yoke (to save arm fatigue over rough ground), drivers side double gun rack, red front lights for "stealthing" around. Flip down armrests for shooting off. Also phone holder for Ucaller, and a pa speaker mounted on the front. Also got a big rott proof cammo net cut to size that goes over the top. Pull up tight to a tall hedge, cammo over the top and you have a ready made hide!! Best part is you can take upto four people in safety, or 2-3 and loads of kit. Very low gound preassure too. My only complaint is its a bit noisy, need to look at fitting another muffler.

A lot of peeps want the 30", I wanted one origionally, but to be honest you got to try the 28", the handling is superb, very light and quick. Really sorry to see it go, but needs must, a very underated gun, If you can live with the modern styling they are a good tool.

I started with some cheap beretta rip offs, then got a set of Dyna Eye wrap arounds. Im not convinced about the lens quality, there is quite a bit of distortion when you look closely, and Im sure its not helping my shooting. They have also got a blured out semi-opaque bit abve the nose piece that is starting to irritate me too! Ill have a look at the oakleys, cheers mungler. Browning, what lenses do you use the most with the Hi Def's?

I Never shoot without it. Had plenty of clay bounce of my head already!

Decided to invest in some decent glasses for trap shooting, Just wondering what everyone else uses or reccomends. Lot of people I know using Randaulph. Anyone here tried the HIDEF-SPEX or whatever there called?

Got my first shotgun and started clay shooting just over a year ago. Been doing a little sporting, but mainly DTL as its easily accessible for me from a wheelchair. Decided I was was a bit bored of dtl, so have tried OT four times, was getting 13's and 14's. Havnt been shooting that much lately, then got a call that a few of the chaps I shoot with (some very good competition shots)they were going for a couple of hours to Griffin lloyd for an OT practice. Anyhow, after a bit of messing about and getting my eye witht the new gun it all suddenly came together and I shot a 19/25. Not up to pro standard yet but I was very very chuffed!! Ive been grinning all morning so had tell someone!!

Yep they will float, have got a bilge pump so fully amphibious. Cheers guys, always seem to shoot two good shots then one **** one, have to keep practicing! Its the little .223 'cub' scout. One seriously handy rifle, really compact and practical.

After dragging the scout in and out of the argo, and bumping it about, thought I would check its held its zero. Nice little 3 shot group at 100 yards. 1" grid on the target. Shot with bipod whilst sitting in the argocat. Not up to you pros yet, but im prety happy for now, took a couple of pics of my lamping set up while I was at it. Usually use a scope mounted lf140 as well as the T handled 170. Front red fog lights are for creeping around at night.

Have a look through a luepold mk4 tactical. WOW! Im only using a 3.5-10 x 42 and the light gathering and clarity is unreal. Bit more money but worth it. Schmidt 8x56 eould be next on my list though. Had a good look at one and very nice indeed.

I had the same problem when I started. Tried most things, well placed black spot on the glasses, easyhit, blanking left eye. All helped a bit, but after much experimenting for me the best results come from calling the bird both eyes open, which aids judging the speed, mount and move, then shut or dim your left eye when your swinging onto the target. sounds like a lot to think about but it soon becomes habbit.I didnt really get on with the blurry patches or spots, mainly because I have middle vision ie. no dominant eye.I do still use easyhit beads too. There is no reason why your shooting need be any worse from cross dominance or middle vision just need to try a few things and work out whats best for you, we're all different.Of course there is another way.... learn to shoot left handed!
