  1. I expect you have to use no toxic cartridges do you?
  2. This can be caused by not having the gun firm into your shoulder.
  3. I have a 682 gold e with the adjautable comb. When I remove the stock I have to first remove the screws that hold the comb adjusting housing otherwise the allen key won't go past them. if that makes sense. F
  4. Thanks to all for your input. Good site.....good people. R
  5. I have a 682 gold E sporter, had it since 2003. Now in the manual it tells me that it is okay to use steel shot through it. But I can find no steel proof marks on the barrels (fluer de lys) nor any referance to steel shot. I have never used steel in the gun but would like some clarification. Any advice will be appreciated. regrads R
  6. oh the dreaded 03 plate. I have one and LOVE IT. But they are well known for cracking their heads at about 70-80k miles. I have personel experiance. But I use mine everyday and for towing. Runs on road tyres but never have managed to get it stuck anywhere although I don't do any majour off roading. If you want economy buy a Micra. R
  7. Never really understood what the difference is between shooting with an over and under or a side by side. As far as my limited expertise goes I beleive it is purely a matter of personal preferance. Can't be power or speed as they both use the same cartridge. As for barrels side by side or on top of each other I thought the idea was to forget the barrels and watch the target. I too have had snide remarks from the coloured glasses and gloves brigade when I use my AYA No 2 on clays. But hey I don't have a shooting vest that looks like a road side advertising board either. Sod em and enjoy. F
  8. SXS for me but I use an O/U on clays. Had a semi auto but got rid....it was just a machine...no soul if you know what I mean. And as for my old Webley and scott BA single .410 well
  9. West Mercia have just turned my SGC renewal around within two weeks. R
  10. Yes I have had just that happen. The police have said though that this was to speed up the renewal process and they would be paying a visit at a later date. R
  11. Hi everyone, these days it's very common to hear about long long lead times to get our shotgun certificates renewed and West Mercia was probally one of the biggest offenders. But I must praise West Mercia for an excellent service this time round. From posting off my renewal application to recieving a new certificate was two weeks. Impressive, especially since the last time it took 15 weeks so someone is on the job and things are improving. R
  12. On mY 682 I just make a habit of moving the top lever across to the "open" position before I try and reassemble the gun. This ensures that the conical locking bolts are retracted before I close the barrels to the action. When the barrels close onto the action face they (the barrels) depress the little button that releases the locking bolts into the tapered holes in the barrels and locks everything up tight. I wouldn't have thought that closing a Beretta with the locking bolts in the open position is a healthy thing to do....but hey! I'm not a gunsmith. best regards R
  13. My nephew has one that was bought from new. It's a twenty bore and a good little gun for the money. Hasn't given any problems and he uses it for both clays and game. It doesn't have the finish of a Boss or Purdey but hey......you pays your money and takes your choice. R
  14. Had my 682 gold e for years which has 32" barrels. I dont think they are limited addition in fact quite a common clay buster really.
  15. Should be very suitable for roost shooting in dense woods I think.
