  1. I am looking forward to my first season.
  2. I had wondered how people used to manage before professional instructors and gun fitters came along.
  3. I cant say that I understand how some manufacturers can charge extra for a left handed version whilst others do not charge anything at all.
  4. I am a newcomer too, I can understand about picking up bad habits but doesn't that happen anyway over time despite even the very best tuition, it seems to with car driving.
  5. I am just starting out and this is something I have thought about, it seems to me that taking a pigeon or a rabbit and the odd duck or goose for the table isn't really much different to buying it from a butcher of supermarket but then I hadn't envisaged that I would be shooting lots of creatures and not just through lack of ability. For me it is more about enjoying being outside in the countryside or on the foreshore and if luck goes my way then something for the table. I live in a rural area and I do try to avoid running birds, rabbits and the like over as I drive around but its quite hard sometimes when you are driving a bus.
  6. I have been reading this and other forums to gather information to help me choose my first shotgun and it seems to me that a Remington 870 express would be a very good choice and they make one for left handers too.
  7. We have had a Clearview Pioneer for nearly 3 years now, its fantastic, very easy to control and looks great. Havent tried to keep it going all night with wood as its not so big and the logs we had were quite large but when we tried coal it was fine but we have been told not to mix and just use one or t'other so its wood from now on, but we are very happy with our Clearview and its easy to clean too.
  8. I am in the area too, just starting out and reloading sounds very interesting.
  9. Some enterprising soul should make covers for guns in the shape of a large flask or a cigarette, problem solved perhaps.
  10. Hi to everyone, been watching for a while but set the wheels in motion for my SGL so thought an introduction was in order. I have had some experience shooting targets way back, I am new to shotguns and the plan is to shoot clays and then with some experience under my belt try out pigeons etc and some wildfowling.
