  1. I am in two minds as to get a 682 used or try one of these.
  2. So now the 692 has arrived has anyone had one long enough to give a comparison to other guns of similar standing.ie 682.
  3. I think that it is going to be hard to find a gun around 100 in the dealers try guntrader or why not stop off at some local clay clubs as lots of people have guns in their cabinets that they will never use but because they are of low value do not bother to advertise.i have two s/s that I will never use both English and perfectly usable but the two cost a little over 200.i am sure you will find something it will just take a little time.good luck
  4. anyone know of any sporting shoots on bank holiday in lincolnshire,
  5. i had some about two years ago they were smini on the case and as you say are a very good cartridge.
  6. Anyone know where smi cartridges can be purchased
  7. No contest lads I worked and saved hard that's all.oh and no wife so happy shooting days.
  8. My budget is based on the gun I want.i consider the guns I have to be quality.neither are perazzi or kreighoff.and nomatter what the product it needs advertising.look in all the Macs they are all doing it.
  9. I suppose my main point was if you bring a new model onto the market a couple of weeks before your annual price hike set the price at the now new price there is a shortage of these guns as is to be expected so it is bad pr to up the price on something you cannot get hold of.be interesting to see if they become more available now.i am a lifelong Beretta user and shoot nothing else and can't see that changing but just thought this was strange thing for them to do.
  10. Think I would be tempted to get another gun as it will only get harder and more expensive to find cartridges for the old 2.5 inches.
  11. Has anyone else had this experience I called the local dealer to get a price on the 692 and was given 2570.00 yet two days later it was 2795 when I asked why I was told all Beretta prices had gone up on the first of may surely Beretta can't be that stupid to up the price within a week of its launch.the space in my cabinet will stay at least until a few appear second hand.
  12. I would say one gun the best you can afford a 30 inch spotter If you can't hit all types with one gun then it is not right for you.as for weight unless you are very feeble the extra few ounces of a spotter should not be a major problem.keep switching guns will lead to inconsistency.good luck Should say sporter keyboard to small.
  13. you could buy my a400 excel it has only had about two hundred carts fired,i love berettas but just dont sit right with a semi auto, personal choice .i think buying an old auto is a bit risky.
  14. i found super fast a bit punchy especially on a hundred birds,a good cheap cartridge and cost is important unless you are rolling in it,you might look at eleys they are around the same price for olympics and are a kinder cartridge
  15. hi,good to hear you got sorted,my take on it is you buy what you can afford and are happy to shoot with,i think there is a lot of **** talked about with guns for different disciplines i shoot al of them with the same gun a beretta 687eell 30 inch sporting, and it does a great job it is the person aiming the gun that does 99% of the job,i remember going shooting with my grandad years ago he shot for the irish national team and shot browning with fixed choke as that was all there was in them days the same gun for sporting dtl and game and he shot 100 straight most of the time up to when he was in his late seventies, you can get the same scores from a £100.00 gun as from a expensive one,i am reading with amusement all the hype around the new 692 and cant believe the ammount of people who are falling over themselves to buy one it will be a nice gun but wont hit anymore birds than any other gun.frame of mind is a big factor with shooting plan your shot stay calm if you miss a bird it will not be the guns fault i have had some real bargains come my way because people did not hit more with their new gun.anyway enjoy your shooting and dont get to wrapped up in all the bull and snobbery.good luck
  16. thanks i will give it a go tomorrow,it sounds familiar now that i read it.
  17. i saw a ad in the pull magazine where they had a try 692 i think it was in sussex, cant find the mag now.
  18. does anybody know how to remove the detatchable trigger from a beretta ase l,i cant for the life of me remember what they said in the shop when i bought it.
  19. seen this a few times with many different makes of gun, some i think were just careless and touched the trigger, however all answered the same when asked how long since gun serviced, never had service, with something as potentially as dangerous as a shotgun you should have this done regular.
  20. had one of these back in the early eighties, paid £800 for it new 30 inch with fixed 3/4 and full chokes,a basic trap gun, very good guns have not seen one for a long while now,but its a beretta so cant go wrong really.i would look at around 450 as a value today as you can get a multi choke for not a lot more.
  21. went today for the first time at this show wont bother next year, looked at a few guns but most were around £400 dearerthan my local dealer and cartridges were £21 a thousand more than i bought them for on the way home, stick to the game fairs in future i think.
  22. never been to a show yet where you get genuine bargains, best way to buy is from private seller, but then with the cost of stands at these places its no wonder, but you can still have a good day out.
