1. I work on 10 birds for a box of carts unless they are coming in really well to the pattern. If they are quartering or less than happy to commit into the kill zone or the wind/angle/distance comes into the equation then forget it!
2. Being able to cast well will make all the difference. You see many lads flogging away on reservoirs turning the water into froth. As a beginner I would recommend boat fishing to begin, drifting downwind as it's almost effortless to cast. Drift down a bank broadside to the bank or anchor 5-50yds offshore and fish with a muddler on the top pulling it through the wave. Fish can chase it and hit it right under the boat. It's how my dad taught me and it still catches them at this time of year in particular. Long accurate casting to spooky fish in calm conditions is a bit more advanced. A floating line and a few big dry flies like daddy long legs and muddlers if it's windy is all you need to begin with. Enjoy.
3. One of my permissions has metal 45 gallon drums in th fields that get a banger hung into the open top off a length of wood over the top. It's one hell of a bang !
4. As above I'm interested in buying a S/H air bottle for my air gun. Prefer to get gauge and whip with it and for it to have a fairly long test date. Will collect from within reason close to Preston Lancs area. Maybe further. Cash waiting.
5. Did you get the screen repaired or have you just left it?
6. I've added up my total for the season so far as 297 7454
7. As they say with stuff heading away... "shoot his legs"
8. This is showing as sold on the site... Are you saying it's still available?

CENS -

What colour are they?
10. Thats what I thought..... She's sat here next to me ******* herself laughing after reading that!!
11. Thanks for all the feedback and photographs lads. Seems they have changed the manufacturer and the hypas are slightly different now. I've built them up and they seem like they are the same as the ones in the pics. My only gripe is the screws don't seem the get a good hold in the corrugated back. The screws are only 1/2" long and a little heavy gauged for the body. Also the clamp on the underside is at a different angle than the ones in the pics and online. I presume they will still mount on a rotary ok at that angle? Time will tell once it arrives. I presume I have done these right?
12. Ok I will post a pic as soon as I get home. The carbon rod slides (stopper side first)? through the mid wing slits and into the wing tip pocket but it has nowhere to locate at the back of the decoy head. The rods just overlap and have nothing to secure them into place. I know the rubber pigeon head sits over everything but not sure what keeps that in place either. There is no sillosocks instructions anywhere online or nor did I get any in the parcel. The poles on the bouncer are straight, and the light brown sockets on the bottom of the decoy body are not cranked they come off the body square. So when the poles attach the pigeon decoy just sits flopped over backwards under its own weight. Like I said I have no instructions to follow so I'm totally guessing here.. Also supplied were two brown plastic poles. Not sure what they were for either.. Any hypa flap YouTube footage shows the poles with a crank or dog leg in the last 12" of the pole and the decoy sat fluttering facing into the wind downwind of the pole..
13. I have received a couple of hypa flaps and telescopic bouncers off my good lady for Christmas. My problem is they came in a plain bag with no instructions. I'm pretty hands on and played around with them a couple of times but I'm not 100% sure I'm putting them together correctly. I don't want to mess anything up by doing it wrong, the issue is the fixing of the rods along the wing, I can't work out how to secure them at the back of the decoy head. I have worked out how they thread through the wing but cannot see what to so where they meet. Any members that have any assembled that could send or add a couple of close-up pics of the head and wing detail I would be very grateful. I presume the pack of screws that came with them is to screw the flat wing part to the body profile? Also the bouncer sticks came straight, so I presume you kink the end yourself to suit on the thinner metal end piece? They were bought from uk shoot warehouse. Thanks in advance.
14. Yes the acorns are all deformed this year... apparently its all down to a wasp grub larvae. Very interesting heres a link- http://www.donsgarden.co.uk/pests/338
15. As title says. I'm in the market for a fairly new silver pigeon . 12g right hander. Field or sporter. Pref 30" barrels. Nothing too old. Cash waiting. PM me with any offers. Cheers
16. I was out on one of my permissions lamping with a sub 12lb airgun one summer evening when a plain hatchback car noticed my beam shining across the field and reversed back to a stop. I turned the lamp down as I was stalking a bunny and didnt want to spook it. Next news a young pc shouted across asking if anyone is there. I kept quiet as I was 100yds away at least and couldn't tell it was the police. After 2-3 mins I worked my way over and explained I was lamping with sub 12 gear on private land owned by my family. The police officer made me hold my rifle above my head and shone a torch in my eyes. He then made me place down my rifle and lie face down with my hands on my head! I took 20 minutes of explaining to get the young lad to understand I wasn't breaking any laws. I now ring through before I go to shoot! I have also had a helicopter hover over me for 5 minutes whilst using night vision. I suspect they could see my ir laser from miles away.

zeroing

I have a daystate huntsman in .22. I find that I have to zero very 3rd time I go out. I've got it down to a fine art now. I just clamp the rifle in a workmate with a towel to protect the wood and let off one round at 30yds onto a blank a4 piece of paper. Then just alter cross hairs onto the hole. I tend to put around 10 more shots to check groupings and it fine. One of the good things about a none recoiling gun.Not sure why it leaves zero but it's never by much 20 mm max. Hope this helps
