Right chaps I have decided on the 223 rifle (not sure what make yet) with either a 53gr or 55gr hornady v-max specifically for fox and long range corvids and rabbit, I no at long distances it's not right to take head shots on rabbit so body shots are the only way, that said I won't be eating the meat, shorter distance I have my 17hmr, I'm just wondering what twist rate is best for the 223 bullet in a 223 rifle iv had a look on various sites and Google but thought I'd ask all ur advise aswel .thanks phil.

yeah mate all it is, over 1 of my perms I hav built a high seat just under the edge of the barn about 16ft high and it gives me a great view of the fields infront and sides of me, also sheltering my from the wind and rain. But when I let off a round even with the mod on its loud I no it will be louder because I'm under the barn and it will echo, so could do with a mod that's quieter.

,,,hiya wymberley thanks for that , I when I first applied for my ticket my FEO came over to inspect my land and said its big enough for CF but with it being flat he would grant me 17hmr and asked me to build a highseat, which I did, then get some good practice in shooting from my highseat ang gain confidence, once I'd done that he said put in a variation for the bigger caliber (223) that was 12+ months ago now.

I don't think I have mate but that's what I'm goin to do right after posting this

Thinking of applying for my first CF rifle specifically for fox shooting! I already have my FAC with 17hmr and 22rf on my ticket, my land I shoot over is quiet flat so need something that will do the job with maximum effect. Iv had a look on various sites/ect about a CFs but can't seem to find the power output in the 222, 223 & 22-250 and which would be the best option for me to apply for, like my last post I hold my hands up I got it a touch wrong, iv tried doin my homework on the 3 CFs I mentioned but can't seem to find the relevant information so that's why I'm asking u guys to see if I can get the right information because the last thing I want is to contact my FEO and say all the wrong things! I want to be spot on and bee 100% confident in what I'm applying for. Thank you, phil

Hiya chaps a little help needed if Ud be so kind? Iv had my FAC just over a year now and on it I have my 17hmr and 22rf, I have been wondering weather to ask for my ticket to be opened for the hmr as I have had a few offers from friends ect to go shooting with them an take along my 17 but had to decline due to it not being open ticket, what do u guys think an outcome would be if I got in touch with my FEO?! As Iv only had it just over a year,, waste of time or not?? Thanks Phil
